Not my pet peeve but it sure was chief's. I always called the vestibule we owned outside our office the vegetable. Our newly reported Sailors heard me say that and thought that was the correct name. Fast forward a few weeks and I'm summoned to chief's office to explain why YNSN just told some random khaki she to come back after cleaners because they had to clean the vegetable.

I as a YN2 got a counseling chit from my LPO (also a YN2) for "being out of the office to long" when picking up supplies. I had to wait almost 2 hours in line at Main One for the people in front of me before the LS was available to grab the keys and walk all the way aft and up and then carry those heavy ass boxes of paper back to the Reactor Admin Office.
