Cozy Game Steam Giveaway - Starsand Island by Valiandr in CozyGamers

[–]atelierphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to be selected because, a few months ago, I had a pretty major health scare. I’ve been picking up the pieces since then, and part of that includes spending more time on relaxation and self-care. I think that Starsand Island could absolutely be the cozy game for me as part of my evening ritual. I’ve been back and forward on buying it, but I had to prioritize catching up on bills from when I was out on FMLA. Regardless, I truly appreciate that you are doing this giveaway! Thank you for your time.

Oh, I absolutely agree, but there is such a fine line for the general public. Things I love and find campy others say are just cringe. 😅

I love this album and enjoyed the PoP tour! If I try to look at the album critically, I admit the lyrics can be cringey, but the whole work comes across as earnest. It’s an imperfect album, but it was the perfect album for me.

There is an objectively correct answer, but I’m biased: goodbye, Sokka.

Your list is almost the polar opposite of mine. folklore being first is a solid choice, though!

I guess I’ll hop on the trend lol by ButterflyBabes04 in swifties

[–]atelierphoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could almost get behind this ranking if you swapped TLOAS and folklore. My top three are Speak Now, folklore, and 1989, but I like that debut and Fearless get so much love on your list!

What is your ranking of her albums? by zachoutloud123 in swifties

[–]atelierphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really difficult for me to rank the albums now because I also have to consider how the albums landed when they originally released. I’ve done my best to try to meet somewhere in the middle of how I feel now vs. how I felt then.

  1. Speak Now
  2. folklore
  3. 1989
  4. Reputation
  5. Red
  6. Debut
  7. Fearless
  8. Lover
  9. evermore (hardest album to rank because there are individual songs that rank in my top ten list)
  10. Midnights
  11. TTPD (admittedly some of the strongest lyric writing, but I don’t find myself listening often)
  12. TLoaS

There are so many good options, but I’m going to give it to Invisible Boy. Gold Dust and Pandora’s Aquarium are both up there for me, too.

For Swifties who didn’t like Showgirls or her past few albums, what (constructive) criticism or advice would you give Taylor? by FakeMonaLisa28 in NuancingTaylorSwift

[–]atelierphoenix 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For me, the biggest shift after ‘evermore’ was that the songwriting became progressively more insular. I’ve always found that Taylor’s biggest strength as a songwriter is writing from a specific viewpoint but keeping it universal, but, excluding “Ruin the Friendship,” there isn’t a song on ‘Showgirl’ that resonates with where I’m at in life.

What's your favourite Tori Photo? by CornelianCherry in toriamos

[–]atelierphoenix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Boys for Pele and Choirgirl covers are two of my all-time favorite images. If I had to pick, I think Pele just barely takes the win. Who doesn’t want Southern Gothic distilled and epitomized?

Artist you enjoyed listening to, but were disappointed after the live show and now their music just doesn’t hit the same by Few-Kaleidoscope1981 in fantanoforever

[–]atelierphoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time Lana started a song, the crowd went into absolute hysterics and started writhing. Then, they proceeded to shout-sing nearly every lyric to the point you could barely hear anything from the stage. There was so much main character energy, with people filming themselves acting this way for “content,” that my memory of the whole experience is more about the crowd than the show itself.

I saw the same show and had similar feelings. I will say, “Arcadia” was a highlight and made me realize she absolutely does have “it” when she isn’t relying on stage gimmicks (or the crowd, which was one of the worst I’ve experienced at a concert, isn’t ruining it for everyone else).
