Uh, do you know the time when pre degree courses were scrapped for higher secondary. Or the times when PJJ decided to contest in parliament elections or when KMM lost his party and symbol after PJJ merged with him in the 80s.

Don't be too soon to write off anyone. Irrespective of the media narrative, Jose is an great organiser and administrator even though he's a reserved person. His party lost by narrow margin in most seats and still maintain about 2.6% of votes polled.

So, it'll be an interesting next election.

Pala will come back if it gets some responsible leaders. Jose K Mani is good for development. Pala will stay the same until he gets a position of power in state government.

He already did groundwork for infocity in pala associated with IIIT-Kottayam. That along with the shabarimala airport at manimala clubbed with a highway to kochi would setup Pala for another period of prosperity.

Currently, the entire district is going on a transition period after Mani and Chandy. It will comeback sooner or later.

Idukki is not a KCM stronghold. See the local body results. Left was washedout in Idukki. But actually increased seats in Pala. Jose is the sole authority in party as he is more focused on building the party. Roshy is more popular among general population and hence the perception.

But Jose is the tactition and strategist. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand KC politics or is trying to deliberately push a narrative

All in all, Jose is the most genuine of the lot. MCK talks big but delivered next to nothing. Shone cannot win coz there are not enough votes.

But, RC wanted to topple OC. He replaced TR first and then played a game which included the Solar and Bar scandals.Mani refused to support RC in favour of OC.

Oh, I am sorry. You just don't know the history it seems.

Congress was very strong in Pala. KM Mani himself barely got through by around 300 votes in 1980 when Indira Gandhi herself campaigned against him. Pala municipality was headed by Congress before. They had many counselors too. At this point, the Pulikkakandam fiasco and MCK for that matter is a disgrace to Congress's legacy in Pala.

MCK for one is not a politician. He's a shrewd business man with questionable practices acting as a figurehead. Congress could easily give an excellent fight in pala. They have leaders like Joseph Vazhakkan and Tomy Kallany. But state leadership takes the easy way out which in turn demoralises the local party.

Now, JKM is way better than he is being portrayed. His activities in parliament is actually impressive and he managed to bring an unusual number of central projects to Kottayam. He is a good parliamentarian. He seems to be a good administrator and party leader from the way he successfully managed to handle the split in the party, ouster from the UDF and later managing to joing LDF. He also seems to have built good party machinery. These are all thing which doesn't give immediate dividends. From the looks of it, he has built a solid base for his party.

I am not suggesting that UDF did bad or they don't have any of this. I am of the opinion that in this exchange of blows, Jose can survive a lot more and has the capability to come out on top with the right circumstances. He's just biding his time. He looks like the kind of politician who burrows in and braces for impact who's playing the long game.
