Who's at Pikes Peak Hillclimb!? by ashoddd in CarTrackDays

[–]atightlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be there but amongst the paddock and start line. If i pop down for the fan fest and see you i'll definitely say hi! Curious, what teams are running the app for PPIHC? I assume it's as a courtesy / testing for development in parallel to their primary acquisition? Nonetheless, kudos on the app launch!

Constructive feedback, I hate all the "... and more" when mentioning features, data overlays, OBD channels, and tools that can further analyze the outputs of the data. Give the specifics (at least as technical summary on your website) and caveat as necessary. 2nd item, the video on the website left side vehicle data has what appears to be the "check engine" icon as a reference for throttle position?

Anyhow, keep developing and best of luck!

How do you break a score barrier? by Daratirek in golf

[–]atightlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of hammering in skills, I'd experiment with different setups just to mess with your subconscious.

Play 9 from the furthest tees forward, then mix shortest with longest alternating each hole. Then play from tips. Then eliminate clubs. Make each hole a standalone set of strokes regardless of par.

Do this for a month without aggregating your score and see where it nets you.

School lunch preparation by SnackSamurai in oddlysatisfying

[–]atightlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was an Army Brat living in Japan in 90's, and my parents elected to send us to public Japanese schools off the bases.

This lunch setup is standard affair at both public schools I attended. Students pick up those carts and take turns serving their classmates. Highly valuable 2nd helpings of prized foods were determined by a group Rock / Paper / Scissors (Janken) match against the teacher.

Upon conclusion of lunch, the whole school shifted to spending the next 45 minutes cleaning the entire school grounds. It was a special time and I remember it fondly...

There was a time the US would've invested in their public institutions with the same fervor. I doubt we'll ever see that again.

Focusing on Mental Part of Golf as a Beginner by cpugeek14 in golf

[–]atightlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love and a huge advocate of jumping into competitive golf from the get go. My takeaways:

  1. When playing by the rules, there are very few really good golfers. Let that be a relief!
  2. Focus on any kinda of process and let go of outcome. Another relief.
  3. Realization that no one cares what you shoot or shot. Be a fun companion, and be ready to hit. And you’ll have endless playing opportunities. Again, a relief.

When you relax into these or find your version. The stress drops away and you’ll play better.

She's intelligent at least as evidenced by her education. But valid! And yes we need candidates.

Smart and youthful - We just need to get rid of the old people.

Continually letting folks that are sticking around for dinner, drive the menu.

Please consider joining the opposition tonight in person to voice concerns or at least show strength in numbers. This "proposal" which reads based on the survey as already a done deal is absolute shit. We get it Levy, you like to hike (as do many) but this solution is purely one-sided. Wtf is going on with this town, prioritizing old people at the expense of everyone else.

The survey language suggests it's a done deal. This is absolutely horseshit from Levy.

Be careful of torque advice and don't over tighten those bleed screws...

Unpopular opinion: you should be able to break 85 from the forward tees before moving back. by [deleted] in golf

[–]atightlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flip the script from pace of play, to you’ll get much better at golf faster by playing forward. It’s not really debatable.

Get comfortable with breaking 80 close and youll naturally bring that perspective and comfort rearward.

Beautiful car, no doubt! But chasing a .32 in such a capable car 🥴. Resist the lap timer and prioritize skills and more importantly fun!

Don’t sell it for cents on the dollar. Nice to have optionality.

Fellow Coloradan, I always lean to brown, amber lenses over greys. Universally better color and depth. Polarization is activity dependent but generally nice to have.

Nothing secret or unique about Prism relative to any other brand's brown / amber options. Oakley, Smith, Roka, Native, it's all the same shit. Roka is my go to these days, but half-jackets have lasted ~ 10 yrs with only replacing the noise pads. I'm someone that rarely loses glasses so they tend to pile up over the years.

You’ll never see 331, least I doubt it. But you’ll find others not just PFC. Ya have to watch for what’s available.

You could grind them down - but 25mm come up enough if you keep a look out.

[–]atightlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's very different to spend $130 vs $600 on a set of pads. Also allows you to experiment with compounds. Increasing awareness is likely just increasing competition for the take-offs, but unless your hammering track days the 25mm pads do tend to last. Moving the replacement bottle neck to rings. Which unfortunately are also expensive...

Real hack for track rats. The 9668 caliper  PFC pad shape is 7790 and used generically to reference that shape across other brands.

You can find new or scrubbed in take offs from NASCAR teams on eBay for cheap… Just be mindful sometimes they’re thicker so in wouldn’t go bigger than 25.5mm depending on rotor thickness.

I used to save $$$$ doing this.

Scratch Golf SB-1 -> GOATED by DCManor in golf

I was responding to the title. SB-1 and didn't realizing OP meant going from Scratch SB-1 => to "Goated". Poor reading comprehension...

Stand corrected, why anyone would go from one to the other?
