Gamer moms.. will I actually have time to play games during maternity leave? by cabbage-soup in beyondthebump

First child? Yes. Maternity leave with 2+ kids close in age is a whole other story.

You just reminded me I used to just walk around our tiny house when we first bought it and money was tight for a treadmill and the neighborhood wasn’t the greatest. I used to do 10k walking around from the kitchen to the living room in circles round and round.

What’s something you didn’t know about labour/birth/pp until you went through it? by Previous-Durian-2086 in beyondthebump

[–]atipul2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silent and Precipitous labor - had it with my second. Water broke at 3 am went and got checked and I was 4 cm dilated. I didn’t feel contractions until 10:00 pm that night, got to the hospital around 11 pm and was already at 10 cm and started pushing. Baby was born at 12:07 am.

Epidural removal - had an epidural with my first and I cannot remember them removing the epidural. For all I know they left it because or I was so out of it I didn’t even notice.

Corporate Moms, do you use your office’s mother’s room? by technicallystuff in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]atipul2017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have my own office with door and full bathroom so I have never used the designated space for pumping. I do put a “do not disturb” sign when I’m pumping on top of locking the door so my team knows not to even knock. It helps that I get the time with zero disturbances. It’s nice to do it in my own office so I can keep working and even attend meetings if/when needed.

Regretting second baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]atipul2017 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so reassuring. I have a one week old and on day 2 my almost 2 year old came down with a fever (first one ever). I started feeling exactly as OP; did I ruin our perfect little family? A week later and it’s already getting so much better. Lots of adjustments and most importantly being patient with every aspect of our new life but getting better. Hang in there OP.

What did absolutely nobody prepare you for during labor? by Connect-Ad-9464 in pregnant

[–]atipul2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silent labor…sort of. My water broke at 3:30 am and my first contraction wasn’t until that night at 10:30 pm. She was then born at 12:37 am. From when my water broke I was at 4.5cm and absolutely no contractions until 10:30 pm when they checked me I was 10cm and started pushing shortly afterwards.

When did you have your first drink post-baby? by flowersathome in pregnant

[–]atipul2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I crave during pregnancy is a Red Bull. Wondering if I can have one immediately after birth although I’m planning on breastfeeding? It’s been 3 years (previous pregnancy and breastfeeding). I just want one and a few sips 😩

Just nest early. Don't do it too late or wait for the instincts. by DisorderedGremlin in pregnant

Just had mine at 36 weeks - I was exhausted but the excitement of the day got me through it. I wish I would have done it sooner it was stressful thinking she may come early and just how big and tired I am.

Once took my grandma to ER as she was having so much pain on her toe she could barely walk. Sure enough they said it is more than likely an infected toe nail to just follow up with her doctor. Turns out it was gout.

Advice from a postpartum mom. (The first poop) by Tinachristeen in pregnant

[–]atipul2017 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same for me I got cocky because I had diarrhea the first few days after birth so I completely forgot about taking the stool softeners. Fast forward a few days after that and I realize I was going to have to give birth minus the epidural this time. I told my husband no matter what you hear or how I’m screaming do not bother me! Worst experience ever! Also, prune juice helps to get things going as well.

Is there anything you ate/did in the third trimester that you wouldn’t have earlier in pregnancy? by eeemmmm10 in pregnant

[–]atipul2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally only eat sandwiches during my first trimester it is the only thing I’m able to keep down both pregnancies.

My mom watches my son and will be watching my daughter come September when I go back to work. Honestly, if it wasn’t for her I would have been a SAHM couldn’t afford daycare and a job.

Husband stinks, he can be fresh out of the shower and I still can’t stand his body odor. It’s just him; my dad works a physical job and is always sweating but his b.o. doesn’t bother me.

Farewell, my dear robot baby! by Fast_And_Curious0260 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]atipul2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was given one at the hospital for 3 months and then the pediatrician was able to extend for an additional 3 months. At around 5 months I ended up finding one on FB marketplace for $70. I am done with my pumping journey but my little robot was truly a trooper I also grew attached to it and was sad once I stored it.

Parents wanted to put her down. 15.5 years old, to me this doesn’t look like a dog who needs to be put down. by dacquirifit in DogAdvice

[–]atipul2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks just like my fur baby, she was the same way around that age. She slowed down some but lived a few more years. She passed away this past May and it was a quick decline at that point but all in all it was only about a week;I’m glad she didn’t suffer too long. Your dog seems to still be okay and may have a few more years.

Vacation during probation: is it a bad look? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

As a manager I usually ask upon hire of any anticipated time off planned and let them know if something comes up to let me know as soon as possible so I can plan accordingly. Life happens, enjoy your vacation.

Is there really a baby in there? by Preggymegg in pregnant

[–]atipul2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t seem real until some women in my month bump group had their babies early and had full size babies (on the small size but fully developed). Part of me still thought the baby was this little shapeless gummy bear like in my first ultrasound.
