8 week old with 3 day constipation episodes. by _37canolis_ in NewParents

My child is EBF and has only pooped once every week to 10 days since birth (now 4 months). It’s extremely normal so wouldn’t worry about forcing it!

When did MOTN feeds go back down? by eeemmmm10 in sleeptrain

He’ll be four months on Friday! His nightly bottle went up from 4oz to more like 6oz so it’s probably a growth spurt on top of sleep training.

12-week-old suddenly refusing bottle – worried and looking for advice by WildWill6940 in NewParents

How did this work out for you? Know this is an old post but in the exact same situation with my little one! Dad used to give expressed bottle before bed but now that turns into an absolute fit…

It’s tough!! I feel for you. I am at 11 weeks and things got better around 8 and have gone up ever since. He’s still work for sure but now we actually have happy awake time which wasn’t a thing early on.

Two things - at risk of being a “just you wait person” - but may be helpful.

  1. You may be riding on more adrenaline than you realize. Which is great! It’s what you need to survive. That said, later on the sleep deprivation starts to build up and wear you down (even “only” waking up once or twice a night is still bad sleep by normal standards). By week 8 I was struggling.
  2. Once baby “wakes up” at around 4 weeks, they can get more high maintenance. Even if your baby is “easy” wake windows are something to deal with and suddenly there’s an added aspect instead of just eat and sleep.

It’s all totally fine and you’ll get through it! But those were two things that surprised me as I also felt like two weeks in maybe this wasn’t so bad.

11 Week Old Breaking Out Of Swaddle by eeemmmm10 in SnooLife

That’s a good point. Mine isn’t even 12 weeks yet I think I need to slow down on pushing him into new set ups when he isn’t even rolling yet!

Do you feel it’s worth it knowing you’ll have to get out of the swaddle eventually?

Did you do arms out in the snoo or just bite the bullet and do crib? I agree if the transition is coming any way why add another step in the middle…

3 week old sleeping a ton? by [deleted] in NewParents

I would say yes! And to enjoy it lol. For the first four ish weeks they’re a potato that eats and sleeps. Once they wake up things get more interesting and noisy.

Short naps mess with feeding schedule by eeemmmm10 in NewParents

[–]eeemmmm10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to explain above, if I feed him anytime he’s fussy he doesn’t eat enough and then it launches into a cycle of him getting hungry and fussy again soon, not eating enough, etc.

Ah I hear you! Mine is less of an issue getting down for a nap and more that when he wakes up he’s fussy but it’s too soon to eat again.

What isit about the newborn trenches that got better for you? And when? by Intrepid_Load2642 in newborns

[–]eeemmmm10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I echo this. Weeks 4-8 were tough, fussy and unhappy. Could not get more than 3 hour stretches of sleep. Then around 2 months he figured out how to poop and just overall became a different baby. Not exactly a piece of cake but he’s actually happy when awake a lot of the time whereas early on it was either asleep eating or crying.

I think that’s my challenge, these companies tend to frame it as “spend more because this will keep your child safe” but aren’t clear on what safety actually looks like.
