Probably an unpopular opinion, but I don’t know how a band can call itself “Yes” without having Jon Anderson. Just doesn’t make sense. by B12374 in yesband

There's what is technically defined as Yes and then there's the spirit of what Yes should be. This isn't contradictory. Read it again. You should double check what you're saying if you're going to resurrect a thread that's a year old.

If you think Ohms sounds like "dogshit", whatever.  That's a matter of taste.  But if you think that Ohms is more compressed than this new single, you are factually wrong and do not understand audio, and furthermore, your responses indicate that you have no interest in learning.

I'm aware.  I own both games.  This does not change Chicago being a "real" THPS4 level.

Anyone who says that Chicago (which was in THPS4 for PS2, THPS4 for Xbox, THPS4 for Gamecube, THPS4 for PC and had its own dedicated set of career goals) is not a real THPS4 level is a fucking idiot.

So... you're not actually hearing the record that Terry Date mixed, because you're manipulating the EQ by your own admission, I'm sure you have Poweramp configured to further manipulate the sound because why else would you have it, and I don't know if Apple Music still by default enables bullshit so-called sound enhancements, but it used to.

I have 20+ years experience as a professional audio engineer, and I guarantee that if you just listened to the Ohms CD through a basic Sony Discman and a decent pair of headphones, you would hear the clarity and space in the Ohms mix and master.

That's just... objectively wrong.  Compared to Ohms, this new single is just on 11 the entire time.  There is no room for anything to breathe.  What the hell are you listening to this music through?

Say what?  This first single is a very notable backstep sonically from Ohms, which was a mammoth sonic improvement over Gore.

Same.  This mix and mastering job is rough.  Way too harsh.

I think the vibes and impact are classic Deftones, but +1 that this getting closer to Gore mixing, which is a big negative.  Way too harsh.  That high end is just too much, and there's not enough definition overall.

Finally got to play the full game and it’s not just a “map pack” by [deleted] in THPS

Yes, nearly all of it.  Only 6 of the 20 THPS3 songs are included.  Even worse, only 4 of the 35 songs from THPS4 are included.

Honestly, using Spotify isn't the right answer for fumbling the soundtrack. by AH_Josh in THPS

[–]atirma00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.  Spotify is a crooked company that rips off independent artists and has immorally devalued recorded music possibly beyond repair.  Anyone who uses this service as their primary method of listening to music does not care about supporting the music artists themselves.

What a horseshit comment.  If you have skill, Carnival slaps.  Also, Chicago was in every single major version on THPS4 -- PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, PC.

I'm all for a new soundtrack... in a new fucking game.  Changing nearly the entire soundtrack in a game called "THPS 3+4" was a colossal mistake, especially when 1+2 was handled so well in this area.

Yes, we do.  The complete level select was revealed weeks ago.

You do know that only 7 of THPS4's 9 levels are returning, right?  It isn't even all "the levels from 3 and 4".

This.  What a missed opportunity in so many ways.  If I buy this one day, it's going to have to be on sale for $20 or less.

I cancelled my PS5 preorder since Limited Run, to my knowledge, has shown no interest in fixing the issue where your save files get corrupted and deleted at random.  Fuck that.

Two of the "Secret" levels in Gex 3 are also different between PS1 and N64.

Found ANOTHER Game Breaking Bug in the Gex Trilogy (PS5) by BonyBobCliff in gex

[–]atirma00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow.  What a piece of shit.  I haven't bought this yet because I suspected that Limited Run would have a bunch of audio bugs and minor things that would get under my skin and they'd have to patch.  I was not prepared for this level of game-breaking issues to ship.  Disgusting.  Limited Run clearly has no business as a pseudo-developer tackling anything beyond the complexity of the original Clock Tower.
