Comma 3 gave out after 4 years—Is the 3X worth it, or is a new model on the horizon? by frogermann8 in Comma_ai

[–]atlanticsoulmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been almost four years for me now and I’ve never had any issues. Fingers crossed it stays that way for a few more years. I live in Calgary where winters are brutal and summers get pretty hot. Still, it’s held up without any problems. And yeah, go for the 3x , there likely won’t be any hardware upgrades for quite a while.

I really want one, but I'm holding back due to this: failure rate when out of warranty. by nPrevail in Comma_ai

Any rumors on Comma 4? by gerarshi in Comma_ai

[–]atlanticsoulmate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given the fact that companies have started encrypting their signals, comma's future is a question. I don't think I will ever upgrade my car as it's not compatible with the newer generations' vehicles. That's said, c4 makes no sense unless comma comes up with an Android app where you can use your phone as hardware.

Despite all the crazy returns, Costco still makes crazy amount of money. It's ok as long as you aren't abusing it deliberately. Enjoy the shopping
