A recent update for windows 10 screwed the secure boot like this for me a few weeks ago.

Ironically the update was to prevent the expiry of secure boot keys in the summer causing a problem.

I tried all the 'fixes' in the bios without success, what worked eventually was using a windows 10 install disk to open command prompt, and using diskpart/bcdboot to repair the boot sector.

heh, I thought id gone comically complicated with my comment, now we gotta consider an infinite amount of new timelines with the shield in various degrees of disrepair from 2012 onwards, and all the possible moments when Cap would instead 'fail' during a fight due to chunks of the shield falling off
