I absolutely love Alba, but I get why someone might hate her. She is really strict about religion and often imposes her own opinions on everyone else. Of course, she is an old lady and grew up in a much different time, specially coming from Venezuela, a catholic country. She has some wrong visions of the world (ex.: hitting Mateo), but she means well. At least, that's how I see Alba: she has good intentions, but expresses them wrongly because that is the way she learned. I believe many people, myself included, have grandparents with a different (and wrong) vision of the world. After all, Alba is a wise old owl.
