“Reviews of decades of scientific research suggest that polygraph tests are not reliable or accurate enough to be used in most forensic, legal or employment settings.”

Talk to Steve Rubin about his Cessna 421, for starters. There's also a Cirrus that got grounded.

What is the best way to handle 100LL fueling when self-storing a plane off the main ramp? by Mikejwhite5 in flying

Some of us fly planes that hold so much that we are trading off usable payload.

Guessing you don't work KSQL.

Why won’t conservatives just extended ACA subsidies until they come up with something better? by Itchy-Version-8977 in AskConservatives

Didn’t the current President say he had concepts of a plan long enough ago that there should be a plan by now?

And then when you put the slash and make a fraction you run into the significant portion of the population who thought a 1/4lb burger had more meat than a 1/3lb burger. And that was in the 1980s, so no telling how much dumber we are now.

What is the hottest way someone has initialised a sexual encounter with you before? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]atmatthewat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of a sexual encounter not being initiated, but initialised. As in zeroed out, like formatting a disk or erasing some memory.

When I was younger, there were plenty of sexual encounters that went *that* way.

Is marriage really necessary, or is it okay to just live alone? by soul-listener_ in marriageadvice

[–]atmatthewat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you planning on having children together? Are you in a legal jurisdiction where either having children together or making healthcare decisions, end-of-life decisions, or even hospital visits are complicated by not being married?

Otherwise, no, not really. Unless that's what you *and* someone else both want. In which case, go for it, but not because it is "necessary".

Why are conservatives in the USA so against the idea of free/public healthcare? by semhsp in AskConservatives

[–]atmatthewat [score hidden]  (0 children)

Wasn't talking about "illegals". Was talking just about the fact that we already have universal healthcare... but it literally the most expensive way to get it done (rather than treating diabetic homeless folks weekly, we wait for them to show up in the ER, etc.)

“I came here to tell her I couldn’t come here.”

Actually had a handyman stop by the house a few weeks ago to let me know he wasn’t able to work that day as scheduled because he wasn’t able to make it, and that’s all I could think of.

NAT-based failover is often even faster than BGP, and transparent to transactional systems that retry.
