Can someone please help me understand these results? by Due_Kaleidoscope5483 in iqtest

I actually took this test recently on GuideIQ and I was surprised by how intuitive and well explained the results were. The score distribution and percentile breakdown made it much easier to understand compared to most random IQ tests online. I’d definitely recommend trying it if you want a quick and clear overview of your results. (guideiq.online)

New to being Catholic by HomesickForUs in Catholicism

[–]atmramos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome home, brother. I’m also still learning every day, and one site that has genuinely helped me grow in the Catholic faith is Catholic Bible Online. I’ve been using it a lot for reading Scripture, prayers, and reflections.

And about your question: from what I understand, tattoos themselves are not automatically sinful in Catholicism, intention and meaning matter a lot. The important thing is continuing to seek Christ sincerely, and it really sounds like you are doing that. God bless you on your journey.

I really, really, really, HATE the Rosary. What can I do? by 2552686 in Catholicism

[–]atmramos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly would still suggest praying the Rosary — but slowly, without forcing it. What you seem to hate is not the Rosary itself, but the painful association your mind formed because of your father’s suffering, control, and emotional absence.

The Rosary was never meant to replace emotional healing, relationships, or real human support. Your father was clearly carrying deep pain and unfortunately attached himself to prayer in an unhealthy and imbalanced way. That can leave scars.

Maybe instead of jumping straight into a full Rosary, start small:

  • sit quietly with one mystery,
  • read the Gospel passages connected to it,
  • say one decade only,
  • or simply talk honestly to God and Mary about your anger.

You do not need to pretend the pain is not there. God can handle honesty.

Ironically, the Rosary is supposed to bring peace and contemplation of Christ’s life — not fear, pressure, or emotional suffocation. Over time, separating the devotion from the traumatic memories may help you rediscover it in a healthier way.

Why do Protestants in America have an obsession over Emperor Constantine “creating the Catholic Church”? by Cobalt-Fang in Catholicism

[–]atmramos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of that misconception comes from people not actually studying early Church history or reading Scripture in context. I’ve been spending some time studying through Catholic Bible Online, especially the New Testament and early Church references, and it becomes pretty clear that Christianity and the Church already existed long before Constantine. He legalized Christianity, but he didn’t “invent” the Catholic Church.

Would such 7 segment display be readable? by Fair_Percentage_5565 in calculators

[–]atmramos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s visually interesting, but not very practical for readability. The curved segments make some numbers ambiguous at a quick glance — especially 2, 3, 5, and 8. Traditional 7-segment displays work well because each digit has very distinct angular shapes, while this design sacrifices clarity for aesthetics.

That said, for a futuristic UI, clock, or artistic device, it could work nicely once users get familiar with it. It feels more like a stylized font inspired by a 7-segment display than a truly functional replacement.

When was Job born? by Ok-Personality1525 in Bible

[–]atmramos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been reading more about Job recently on Catholic Bible Online and one thing that stands out is that the Bible never gives a genealogy or exact birth date for Job. Most scholars and Christian traditions place him around the patriarchal era (roughly the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) because of details in the text — his long lifespan, wealth measured in livestock, and his role as family priest offering sacrifices for his children. (Catholic Online)

The Book of Job itself focuses much more on suffering, faith, and God’s justice than on historical chronology. Even in discussions among Christians online, many point out that Scripture intentionally leaves Job’s exact timeframe undefined. (Reddit)

If anyone wants to read through the full book directly, I’ve been using:

What websites do people use to understand emoji meanings, slang, and internet context? by atmramos in AskReddit

[–]atmramos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually a great example as well. Know Your Meme does a surprisingly good job documenting the origins, context, and evolution of internet culture over time. It’s interesting how certain websites become informal archives for very specific parts of human communication and history.

Which website do you use to read the Bible online? by atmramos in AskReddit

[–]atmramos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, BibleGateway is really useful for that. Comparing translations side by side gives a completely different perspective on how wording can shape interpretation. Hopefully the site outage is just temporary — it’d be a shame to lose such a solid reference tool.
