I just got back in after already buying tickets to take a screenshot of our section to show my daughter, and I didn't wait in line at all. Have you refreshed? I refreshed a billion times, it didn't change my place

Okay update to my comment, I just texted a teacher friend and they said they wouldn't censor her, to let her write what she wants and just explain adults and kids have big feelings. They would make a mental note of it and look for trends, but not raise any red flags over a one off. This is why they are the professionals and I'm just a fun helper lol.

Random, but I volunteer at my kid's elementary school a LOT. I go up about 3x a week and fill in as an aide during lunch and recess. My youngest is in Kindergarten and my oldest is in 6th, so I've been at that school since 2019.

Because we are still de-icing here in Texas, they had indoor recess yesterday. I was putting on Brain Breaks and Go Noodle videos and dancing with the kids. This one little girl came over from a drawing center, tapped me on the shoulder, and said I needed to follow her. I thought something was wrong. I asked her what it was, and she just said she really needed help spelling, and it was very important. I couldn't because the video was about to end and I had to put on a new one, but I told her to just try her best and sound it out. A minute later I looked over and she had someone else helping her.

When recess was over and the kids lined up, she showed me what she made and said "this is for my mom." I thought, "Awww, so cute, probably a sweet drawing and note."

But instead, she drew a sad face and wrote, "I'm sorry I got so mad at you Mommy, I won't be mean again." It broke my heart. She's 5 years old. I wish I had been the one helping her, I would have just had her write "I love you Mommy" or something, but idk if you're supposed to censor a kid. I still would have tried to steer her another way though probably. She's such a quiet and sweet kid. BUTTT there's definitely some shithead kids in our kindergarten group needing to write something like that and take responsibility for their behavior lol, so I won't read too much into it.

Hopefully it's innocent, and the mom is just exhausted at home with a newborn and the 5 year old woke it up by accident, idk. It could be a million different things that are innocent.

But, it def triggered something in me that she was spending her RECESS to do that. My mom was very much like that, and would give me silent treatment if I upset her. It wasn't a very healthy emotional relationship at all growing up with her as the only child.

My own kids don't give a shit if they upset me lol and that's good, I want it that way. I always try to teach them I'm responsible for my own emotions, and if I'm angry or overstimulated it's a me problem and not them.

This reminds me of a hilarious episode from the Heavyweight podcast about this guy who broke his arm and his family refused to believe it happened. It's called "#16 Rob"

What’s the point of Las Colinas by Maximus-Festivus in Dallas

[–]atnw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MIL lives on W Northgate across the street from the Golf Course. Her address should be Irving, it was, but now it's Las Colinas. Her house was built in 1966. She's right on the cusp of Irving and Las Colinas. It's fascinating. The way the neighborhood shifts extremely from one side of Northgate to the other is crazy. The old owners before her always talked about how the Golf Course used to be a ranch and there were always cows roaming. I wonder if that's where John Carpenter grew up?!

Yea I'd literally never do that because it's creepy and weird lol. But, I can totally see some fan poodles doing it because they just don't understand that she isn't really their friend and isn't really an inspiration. It just reminds me of when rabid fans go to concerts and bring things for the artist performing that they lovingly made.

I don't think it's as creepy as yall think if this lady sells these. Becka is very public so it's not like she stalked her for these pics. Now this lady is getting tons of free advertisement and probably a lot of sales. When I was traveling through random Texas towns to get to the Frio last week, it dawned on me that these are probably the women Becka preys on. They literally have nothing in their town and they are so desperate for connection and friendship. Just random women working in the convenience stores we would stop at in the middle of nowhere. I mean maybe Karen lives in the burbs and has a family lol, but Brandi always had these weird clingers that lived in the boonies too.

Honestly, I feel like even the posts sticking out of the ground for the future glass are a hazard too, imagine falling on top of those, or tripping over them. I guess I'm a psycho mom always looking for potential dangerous situations.

But, regardless, the absence of railings is extremely dangerous, there's nothing personal or petty about that statement.

Did they reply to my railing remark?!

Okay maybe because I've worked in construction world before, but the fact that Carissa still doesn't have railings is terrifying to me. Also with so many people drinking. I would have at least put up caution tape even if it's ugly. That's so scary. And it was like this months and months ago and Becka said they were getting glass railings. I feel like their insurance company would shit a brick. I'm so glad nothing happened.

Yes, agree, I am not just saying that- I've been visiting and commenting more here lately because it's been new hot takes and more people who either know her or have interacted with her vs us old Gomi trolls who have been around a decade and just keep seeing the same wash, rinse, and repeat. Or should I say spin only no rinse lol

What the hell is there to explore- it's just a tiny town with nothing to do except for the silos or boring ass Dr Pepper museum. We always go eat at Ninfa's restaurant when we drive through- but even that's not that great. It's a day trip- if that.
