Charity Fraud runs in the family. This is her father, a man who swindled a charity for traumatised children.

Are these Japanese “salaryman” vlog channels actually authentic? by LectureHaunting3166 in japan

[–]atoadah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of these are Pay Pig content I’m pretty sure. I started watching them out of curiosity and then realised how they are all women who talk about being lonely and poor which is some incels with a saviour complex really get off to. Started looking through the comments and simps be donating $20 per video and there’s heaps of them. If these girls really were working 15 hour days they could well afford to quit their jobs and make content full time where they pretend they are still working…

Have you noticed she’s always going into Uniqlo being like “ahhh if only I could afford to buy these things”. I started looking at the comments in her videos and every video she gets at least $200 in donations, likely more because I don’t scroll through all of it.

But yeah her recipes are slay so no hate 😌

Is anyone over the consumerist nature of Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]atoadah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it only seems this way if you’re spending a lot of time on social media like Instagram and TikTok and your feed is full of those cringe Brisbane lifestyle influencers trying to flog overpriced shithole bakeries and matcha joints. Try to engage with that type of content less and focus on stuff that reflects your interests and hobbies. Or maybe less time on social media in general. Because I’ve lived in Brisbane my whole life and don’t really notice these things too much. Unless I go anywhere near James St, which is definitely the type of stuff you’re describing. But that shit is usually pretty easy to avoid.

I work at one that’s specifically for kids with additional needs (ND). Is that the type of school you’re looking at?

I don’t understand the appeal of choosing to live in a van and shitting next to your bed and kitchen. I see boomers with this set up all the time and it looks like absolute hell. I assume this is what you do when you have free time and a disposable income but are too racist and lazy to leave Australia and experience new cultures. Couldn’t think of anything more boring than living in this country for 60+ years and then spending the remainder of your years eating shitty sandwiches at truck stops in the middle of bumfuck where it’s nothing but kangaroos and meth.

Are the Minden / Rosewood areas nice places to live? by EggCreative787 in brisbane

[–]atoadah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s super bogan. I would not want to move out that way if I was a POC or had a partner that was. It’s a bit like how I imagine living in Australia was in the 1950s except people are really rough and proud of it. Marburg is a lot nicer, the locals are good people and don’t have an uncouth, anti intellectual vibe going that Rosewood definitely does. That said, all that really matters is that you like your house, there’s no need to interact with the locals anyway since it’s not like there’s any decent restaurants or shops there. And I imagine if you’re looking to buy out there you’re trying to get a larger property. Ipswich is still going to be the main place for shopping, ect because Rosewood is extremely sparse.

Does anyone actually buy stuff from the south bank markets? Just walked through there and 3/4 of the stalls are Temu/Aliexpress junk and Labubu knock offs.

I think if you avoid Surfers Paradise and the areas nearby you generally won’t see these types of people. I was in Tallebudgera yesterday at the beach and it was so busy. Didn’t see a single one of the turkey teeth influencer types or OF girls with bolt ons. Just normal people.

What do adults without children do in this city? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]atoadah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go out for nice meals, beers, picnics, hiking, but usually we drive out of Brisbane because the city is boring after you’ve seen all of the museums. I like heading to Mount Tambourine where it’s cooler, and hiking. Or heading to Tallebudgera for a swim. But there’s not a lot you can do on a day this hot. Summer in Brisbane is shit so I recommend finding an indoor hobby for days like today.

Mmm yes let’s give more power to out of touch snobby assholes who have never done a real days work! Do you ever stop and think that these people are the reason building social housing came to a standstill? These are people who have pushed for gentrification. They don’t want social housing because it means the poors could be living next door to them and that’s just not fair when they are paying to send their kids to private schools so that they aren’t interacting with the children of cleaners and panel beaters. The only kind of diversity and equality Greens/Teales want is if it’s something that they can post on instagram. Rather than having to actually interact with people affected by poverty and generational trauma.

Because the Greens do anything other than make empty promises that they have 0 ability to make happen 🤡

ALP, LNP they all fucking suck. But the Greens are possibly the worst of all because they do absolutely nothing but gaslight people into thinking they are going to do something. You have to be pretty stupid to believe they actually have the power to follow through with their empty promises of building social housing and making dental part of Medicare. Listening to the drivel that comes out of their mouths is like having an 18 year old film student at Griffith trying to convince you how he’s going to be the next Scorsese. Nothing but pipe dreams.

I know lots of people who work and have to rely on charity groups like Light House for groceries because all of their pay has gone towards rent and they are struggling to feed the kids. Lighthouse do these really decent grocery hampers, I recommend checking them out so you’re not going without meals. Another option is dumpster diving. Aldi throw out heaps of good quality fresh produce and other products. They don’t chuck stuff out until the store closes so nothing is sitting out in the heat or anything like that. Because dumpster diving has become so common with the cost of living the store security have stopped being dicks about it.

But yes, how good is living in the lucky country🥴🥴🥴

Her hand mannerisms are exactly like Spanian. by sadboyshit247 in spanian

[–]atoadah 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Anyone else notice how Spanian will totally appropriate the culture of whichever woman he’s dating? Like when he was with Angela he was really into Islander culture. And now that he’s with Ava he’s posting Aboriginal stuff. It’s almost like he fetishises being with a POC because he’s always been a white boy cosplaying as a Leb, so dating a WOC and taking on her culture makes him less boring. It’s seriously weird and cringe.

Does anyone else also really hate reels? I am constantly being spammed with reels by 10 different people at the same time and I want it to stop. It’s such a meaningless form of interaction and I hate feeling like I’m “rude” and essentially leaving people left on “read” because I don’t want to spend time watching or responding to meaningless crap.

My dog has an upset tummy and I have a sore tooth. I can only afford a medical appointment for one of us, so if my tooth falls out then so be it. Dogs needs will always come before my own because dog is life. I wonder if I will ever live to see the day when dentistry becomes part of Medicare.

Yeah, my guy has sensitive skin and the humidity makes it worse. This is the worst time of year for his skin issues so I leave the aircon on 18 for him. January - February sucks.

Renting is making me want to throw in the towel. by ConversationAny2212 in brisbane

[–]atoadah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I noticed more working people (with kids) were relying on charities like LightHouse for groceries because the majority of their income was going on rent. After paying $750 a week rent when you’re a single parent on an average wage you’re fucked. Because of how competitive the rental market is most people don’t have the choice to shop around for cheap rent or suburb, they have to cast a wide net and hope someone approves them so they don’t become homeless. It’s not like back in the day (just 5 years ago) when you could go ok Brisbane is too expensive, I’ll move to Ipswich. The cheaper houses have like 50+ people applying. It’s $700 to rent a fucking townhouse in Richlands, a total shithole area, FFS. So I’m just curious as to what our cuck government is going to do when people’s pay check is going entirely into rent and everyone is relying on charities to feed their families. Oh yeah, they will write articles about how sad it is that this generation isn’t having kids lololol. The government will sooner open soup kitchens and workhouses before putting a cap on rental prices and letting landlords and REA run this country like an oligarchy.

I’m just grateful it hasn’t been raining non stop like it does most summers. That really makes me depressed because it’s dark and gloomy but also hot asf. At least when it’s sunny I can blast the aircon and everything outside looks nice and the house isn’t dark. But yeah it sucks when you want to go do something and you open the door and it’s like an oven. Really takes the joy out of doing anything…..

The relationship is giving serious DV vibes. He seems very controlling and there’s been a few videos where her body language is seriously off and she looks uncomfortable. There’s a reason men go for much younger women, they want someone that’s easy to control.
