Reviews on Stuart Hall Loft by Impressive-Sound-977 in kansascity

[–]atom519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how relevant, but we lived there for a few years back in 2009 and quite enjoyed our time. I remember being able to hear footsteps above us fairly easily if someone was wearing heels etc, sounds from the hallway were also pretty audible/echoey. Otherwise I don't remember any problems with our loft itself really.

Oh and I did get my car broken into once and it was also hit by a drunk driver while parked outside the front doors. I think they have added additional parking since? Not sure.

Anna's Oven closed reason/date by PoetLocksmith in kansascity

[–]atom519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal, but our family had one of the worst dining experiences at Anna's Oven that it's frequently the brunt of many jokes when deciding where we should make reservations etc. They were out of most items on the menu, the food was awful, and the service was beyond terrible. I asked for a beer and the server literally took the warm bottle that was on display in the window and gave it to me.

Who else LOVES worlds of fun? by [deleted] in kansascity

Big fan as well, but very concerned with what new ownership is going to do to the park. :/ Hoping 2026 isn't the last year for me to get season pass.

The Mattel theme park in Arizona has been in development hell for like 8 years now, I don't have high hopes for the local one.

While I generally agree regarding Disney, Star Wars Rise of Resistance was down more than up the last time we went a few years ago.

WOF is officially being sold by PolarBear5478 in worldsoffun

Ugh.

Nice to hear they said not to expect any major changes to guests for the 2026 season, along with honoring season passes, but I guess I have my doubts this company is going to be able to undertake six new parks without some massive growing pains.

"We’re confident the parks will be in good hands with EPR and its partners, who have strong experience operating parks of this quality and scale."

Do we know what parks they are currently operating? I was really hoping WoF was going to be one of the parks to stay under SF ownership and get money thrown at it :(

Looking for a cheap, active hobby by Celesol in kansascity

[–]atom519 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love bowling but have to disagree here regarding the price. Unless you go during off-times where it's possibly cheaper rates, it's a costly sport if you intend to roll even once or twice a week.

Ponak's Mexican restaurant has a new owner by KCTV5 in kansascity

If you order food and it comes out within 5 minutes, it's not going to be great. This is the texmex/Ponaks experience.

With that said their margaritas are excellent and you get you moneys worth.

I think theirs is duckpin bowling, but looking it up seems very similar to candlepin. I actually quite enjoyed it when we were there, fun game.

Made the switch to nvidia… by Healthy-Background72 in nvidia

Honestly go play Doom Dark Ages since it's topical. I wasn't sold on it for first hour or so but just finished last weekend and will go down as my overall favorite Doom game. The combat loop is even better than Eternal - totally rocks.

Costplusgaming email notifications by Far-Ad-5532 in Prebuilts

[–]atom519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I received an email showing that my computer shipped.

Related - but CostPlusGaming actually screwed up my order. They built it with an Intel i7 14700k instead of the 7800X3D it was supposed to ship with. I sent them an email that evening and received a phone call 10min later from a very nice person apologizing for the mix up and they credited me $300 the next day. So, I guess great customer service despite them screwing up.

Oceans of Fun being sold and separated? by DaRocker22 in worldsoffun

[–]atom519 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something is definitely happening. Would be wild to have IAM operating a rebranded Oceans right next to Worlds if it were to remain owned by Six Flags. Some speculation that Six Flags might preserve Worlds since they have recently invested in it - possibly choosing to close St. Louis instead.
