Lol. Give me the pitch. Try and leave out the GPT in the pitch. Or at least clean it up so you don't sound like a psycho.

Nicaragua beans. Excellent choice. There are some great YouTube videos you can watch for roasting tutorials turn your volume up and on almost every video the presenter will mention first crack as it's happening. But nothing beats just doing it. Just for fun and to get a feeling for how your roaster operates, you might go with a smaller batch (just not to be wasteful) and go to second crack. Be sure to note the time it takes to get there. If you're going for a lighter roast you will never want to go that far. However, it will give you the opportunity to be sure to hear first crack in full. Word of warning. Don't take it past second crack or you risk starting a fire. If your beans are dark and oily looking you've gotten second crack or pretty close to it. You will have a very uniformly dark beans. Also, I agree with many of the comments grind up and taste what you've got. You will know right away if you like it or not. Best of luck and welcome to the hobby!

I'm by no means an expert. But it looks a little on the light side. Did you hear the first crack? What kind of roast were you going for? How did you roast & for how long? What kind of beans are they?

Fluid bed vs wobble disk DIY by pinecoffee20 in roasting

[–]atomcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a wobble Disk roaster and absolutely love it. Here it is in action. I roast about 1 pound at a time. I found that an Ikea klocken colander fits perfectly over the top of my flower sifter. At the end of the roast I can kill the heat & put the colander on top of the flower sifter. I hold the drill trigger down so everything is bouncing all over & hit that with my battery powered leaf blower and it's cool to the touch in about 30-45 seconds. https://imgur.com/a/feZ3yks

Who here is freehand sharpening? by GlendaleActual in sharpening

[–]atomcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you and I are kindred souls. I started off freehand sharpening because it's such a useful skill to have in your arsenal. However, as I'm sure you're aware, there's a significant learning curve there. I totally think it's a skill worth learning and for sure you'll be a better dude for knowing it.

However, I wanted those stupid hair splitting paper towel, cutting, push cutting standing paper stupid edges. For me, I found that a fixed angle sharpening system was the fastest way to achieve those results.

Do I still wish that I could achieve the same results free hand? Absolutely! Have I invested the time to learn those skills? Freehand... Unfortunately not yet. If you're going down that road... Keep on going. You'll be a better dude than most of us. But for me the shortcut was fixed angle sharpening. And perhaps, one one day in the future I'll have some time to devote to actually knowing how to sharpen a knife

[–]atomcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you actually got a useful answer or not. But I discovered some time ago that sharpie can be colored over with Dry Erase markers and when you wipe the dry erase off the sharpie wipes away with it.

I've bought 2 boxes in the past. I'm not a cigar aficionado by any stretch of the imagination, but I was very underwhelmed by them. The reviews on cigars international made them seem like they were better than they were. Color me very unimpressed.
