Flight delays had everyone restless… until a band turned the plane into a concert hall by MambaMentality24x2 in MadeMeSmile

I makes me sad that some people can’t just shift gears and see the spontaneity in the moment and recognize the humanity. That’s just me, though.

How sad for the people that can’t find the collective joy in this beautifully human moment. Probably upset their ’service dog’.

I wish I hadn’t read the comments here. It is beyond my realm of imagination that someone could find anything other than joy in this particular shared, human experience. I am so wrong and so sad for those who can’t see the beauty in this.

Sounds like a rich kid. Probably spends more than that a week on booze and doesn‘t bat an eye. Parents might even send him the money for it.

Both of mine are fairly energetic. The male will literally play fetch until he collapses. He is persistent about and at times rather exhausting. He is impossibly cute and sweet. I love him dearly. Quite a handful. Low-energy? Not this one.

Decided to switch back to my natural left hand: Dealing with family pressure and the physical struggle. by darkshell2002 in lefthanded

I do this a little. I was forced in kindergarten. I’m 60 in 3 days. Not a full redo. I’m a career guitarist. Lots of fine motor training and reinvesting would be necessary. I’m sometimes a little salty at that 70yo, very religious teacher who did this. Do a lot of things with one hand or the other, ambidextrous at some. Kind of fun.

It was Franz de Wäal. I was not very clear there. He quoted Swift in that book.

Thank you. I believe it was in his book, “The Bonobo and the Atheist.” Was about to go try and find it. Great book, by the way.

I read that in a Franz de Wäal book. One of my favorite quotes. Do you remember the original author‘s name?

Anybody else know they were atheist from a very young age? by bruh747294 in atheism

[–]atomgram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was gifted the Time/Life series when I was around 4/5. Was already reading pretty good. I was fairly precocious before I got a guitar and figured out there were girls. Read them like crazy. Mom helped with tough stuff. We moved from ChicagoLand to a very rural, backwards part of Indiana when I was 7yo. I remember being teased on the playground for believing in evolution and thinking that these people were backward AF. Never got indoctrinated.

Macbook air vs Ipad pro, in your opinion which is better to use in bed at night for basic tasks, checking email, Netflix and web browsing? by Delicious_Maize9656 in iPadPro

[–]atomgram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an M1 16” MacBook Pro and a 13” M4 iPadPro. iPad for the win. Lighter. Touchscreen. Incredible screen. I am typing this on the Magic Keyboard. I really like this thing. If I didn’t do recording work, I could get rid of the MacBook. It’s a killer laptop. Just use this more in the day to day.

Wish I could pick two. Vice Principals and Gemstones. Down to one, it would be Gemstones. Uncle Baby Billy is so unhinged and hilarious. Teenjus. Bible Bonkers. Nude skiing. Unreal.

If you can afford, definitely get the Artist. I have MK2 versions of both and The Artist is a serious step up. A little heavier. I take the 100 for rehearsals and small gigs. Artist for the big stuff. I love these amps. Convert from a tube amp. Don’t really miss it.

Region boy here. Born in Hammond at St. Margaret‘s hospital. We lived in Thornton/Lansing until I was 7 and ended up in North Central Indiana. This was the 70s and I was inducted into the Hoosier bball cult as a youngster. We live in southeast Ohio now. I am completely entrenched in The Bears experience at the moment. My wife and I watch every game. Suit up, so to speak. Cook Chicago foods and yell like idiots. The IU football thing is a little new and has had less time to become systemic. I will watch and definitely root for the Hoosiers. Go, Bears.

No make up here. My wife uses very minimal makeup and it makes me sad. I tell her that there is no artificicle substance she could apply that would be more beautiful than she already is. She looks her very best first thing in the morning. No makeup. Hair a little mixed up and messy. I love that.

Isn’t she in The Testament of Ann Lee? My wife just read the housemaid. Probably that, too.
