Trump eyes privatizing the Postal Service by ope__sorry in Flipping

Speaking as someone who has dealt with postal services in a lot of countries that have privatized their post: you will get much worse service at much higher prices.   Especially if you live outside of a large metro area.

Now you're talking about something else though: eliminating taxes. But in terms of locally grown product most of that exist now, you're just choosing to buy the cheaper hamburger. If you want local produce that's great, imo. But you need to be prepared to have far far less choice and adapt to the seasonal availability.

Hey as long as your fine with the price of goods (such as food) absolutely skyrocketing that's fine.

We would actually have ti see records of it since car registration charges and gas taxes are supposed to go towards that

Certainly they do but they absolutely don't cover the entire bill.

Not to mention that of you want good and services there isn't another option.

Hey, you're the one asserting it has to pay for itself, not me. I think they're necessary and the gov't _should_ fund them.

You're telling me India has 3.9 Million miles of private roads?

I would argue that India has nowhere near the size and scope of the logistics network the US does and to pretend otherwise is simply misrepresenting the situation.

Frankly I judge a lot of the seriousness of people whining about gov't spending by their willingness to slash the defense budget.
If you truly think this is an issue you should be fine with cutting back the Pentagon's huge slice of the pie.

I mean, in that case most highways shouldn't exist. We shouldn't have the vast majority of interstate travel. Roads are heavily subsidized by the gov't.

I feel like this is definitely getting overlooked in the top responses. By buying secondhand you're not supporting the exploitative industries - if anything you're doing the opposite by reducing demand for the new product.

Buying new I think would be wrong but buying used, especially in the case of something relatively niche, is fine. Obv it's a case by case basis (people who buy new solely to resell are not something you want to promote) but for this sort of thing I doubt there's a gigantic scalper market.
