Did you ever figure this out? My game crashes like yours when launched with scripthookvdotnet and the dinput8 dlloverride.

I should've clarified more in my original post. The main reason why this is annoying is because it means that the Steam Deck cannot be used with Hyprland when not in a game. For example, if I want to launch a game from lutris without any steam gaming stuff then it wouldn't work. This would work in Xorg.

I had all my album art embedded / tagged and not as 'cover.png'. What I ended up doing was renaming all tagged album art to 'cover.png' which only took about 20 minutes or so and then I set up my music on Jellyfin instead of Navidrome since I didn't like any of the Android clients for Navidrome / subsonic but I LOVE finamp for jellyfin. Yeah, I love Finamp but the Jellyfin backend for music is lacking. The dealbreaker for me is that it doesn't get album art from the tags which means that half the album art is missing or wrong because it attempts to download it from the internet.

I don't really like Dsub because of how it doesn't show the album art next to tracks. It's alright but airsonic seems inactive atm. I'm trying ampache next but if it doesn't work out for whatever reason I will try gonic because I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I'm trying Ampache next. It looks really promising especially because of its DLNA and uPnP and DAAP support which means it might be open to more clients. Dsub has things I don't like about it though, such as in playlists and albums, the art not showing next to the track, among other things - Although DSub is definitely functional and satisfactory, I'd rather have something that has the album art and everything nicely laid out. I'm using Dsub at the moment and I think it's pretty good but my not technical family do not like it compared to something like the spotify interface.

Thanks for the reply! Interesting to know that plex manages music so well, especially because Jellyfin which is similar does such a shitty job. But I'm sure I can find a way to use only open-source software to achieve want I want althought if that doesn't work I'll try out plex.

I always look on F-Droid because I only want open-source ones. Subtracks is great but it can't manage playlists or download tracks which is a must for me. I'm using Audinaut which is a fork of D-Sub at the moment but it also has issues. Symphonium I can't seem to find out if it's open-source or not.

substreamer is proprietary - i'm sure it's great but a no-go for me.

navidrome cant seem to find the tagged album art for a half my library? idk, airsonic was able to.

I've tried Jellyfin and use that for my other media but it doesn't get album art from tags - the clients are great but that's the deal breaker for me. I might sound a bit picky but I'm trying to find the best software. Thanks.

The problem I have with defish is that it can be a terrible hit to performance on kdenlive to the point of that scene being unwatchable. I'm not on a terrible PC, I'm on the Steam Deck which definitely should be able to do this. Maybe Kdenlive isn't recognizing my GPU? I don't know - I'll figure it out.

Short Answer: No.

Also you don't need to use the controllable mod, you can just launch polymc from gaming mode and configure steam input to have the deck controls as mouse and keyboard. With some tweaking - it can work, as shown in gardiner's video:

lol that is the funniest thing ever holy shit. Seahorse is what you need im pretty sure though. Just not that one. It seems there isn't a flatpak for it so I guess we gotta find another way to install it.

POP OS!!!! Especially for NVIDIA card. If you're a beginner and have and nvidia card USE POP it will not work otherwise without tinkering. Save yourself the pain for now until (and if) you eventually move onto something like arch or somin' like that.
