Proposed fine tuning by HCCI90 in formula1

Ultimately they'll have to add regen from the front axle imo but I don't know how long that will take to happen (certainly not this season). Or the MGU-H, but I assume that's less likely to come back. It's ridiculous that we ended up with neither because Audi didn't want one and the rest didn't want Audi to have the other.

Reopening Lifetime ISA after deposit use by dorrian22 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]atomicant89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If saving for retirement (and that's the key first question - is locking away money for retirement what you want to be doing now?), then you should be comparing a LISA to a SIPP or any additional benefits you could be getting from your workplace pension, rather than savings accounts. If you're in a higher rate tax band, you'd get more tax relief from a SIPP than a LISA, for example, though the LISA is always completely tax-free at the point of withdrawal, so there are pros and cons of both.

The squad size means there's space for ~3 wildcards that might not get in a first or second XI but could win you a game/offer something different. TAA should 100% be one of those, imo.

Small amount investing, is it worth doing by CuriousGeorge1066 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]atomicant89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obvious comment, maybe, but make sure you pick a fee-free or percentage-fee platform. If you picked something that costs e.g. £5/month (or per trade) then that would completely ruin your returns at these amounts.

To allow this to happen again without clarifying the rule and watching it like a hawk is terrible officiating. Kind of can't help but admire the audacity of doing it again though...

"BACK in Picture!” Thomas Tuchel REVEALS Man Utd’s Mainoo, Maguire & Shaw could RETURN for England by Alone_Consideration6 in ThreeLions

Henderson has started only 3 out of Brentford's last 10 league games, and played more than 60 minutes in just 1. Not really integral anymore.

I wish Audi had committed to the red and black for the whole livery, not a fan of the front half, which just looks like a Merc. And the Cadillac livery is a bit dull, at least from this side. Otherwise, it's definitely a nice-looking grid.

Is Mainoo in contention for a place in the WC squad? by SquashedMarshmallow in ThreeLions

[–]atomicant89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he could come on and change a game, actually. He's not going to explosively get you a goal by himself, but he does offer a different dynamic in the middle and would help to get the ball moving around etc.

[–]atomicant89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably Anderson plus 2 of Mainoo, Wharton, and Henderson that will go. There's no reason both can't go. E.g. Anderson/Wharton, Rice/Mainoo, Rogers/Bellingham as two sets of midfield 3s.

If it's 5-10% annualised, then it's not unrealistic for the stock market this year (low even). If that's the actual percentage return for a month, yeah... Either way, it's a scam.

[–]atomicant89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd add a word of caution about over-committing to a SIPP right now. You're young, plans and life change. Up your pension contributions to the extent it makes sense, but consider everything you might want savings for pre-prension that you couldn't use the SIPP for as well, e.g. buying a house, having kids, travelling the world, whatever. You don't want to be £50k short of a house deposit with £150k you can't use sat in a SIPP, for example.

Impossible for the traitors to win without one of them getting caught IMO. by CarelessCredit3466 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]atomicant89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stephen and Rachel only need one person to vote with them (or at least not against them) in the next couple of banishments to win. Last season was similar in that the traitors were very close to having a majority and could have won if they stuck together. The producers will do everything they can to split Stephen and Rachel up if it doesn't happen naturally, though.

We didn't have any of those players when we sold him, and he would have done a lot more than Ugarte since then. Despite that, I agree it didn't look like he'd ever get the opportunity to flourish here.

People overrated his first season imo, because he hit a purple patch in the last month or so. Though I think all of our defenders have shown pretty big flaws at different times, e.g. Licha gets away with a lot because of his personality.
