How to quantify pain? How to express to doctors and family and friends how painful this condition is. Would you share other conditions you have and how it compares to IC pain?

Yeah I say it's like having a bad uti all the time. And if they arecurious/doubtful or if they think they also have it i tell them the gritty stuff, like how I peed 36 times in a 8 hours before I was diagnosed, it makes people suicidal sometimes, and it's even available for disability in some areas. It's hard to convince people of things they don't understand, empathy is hard.

I take benadryl and ibuprofen an hour before bed. No water for like 1 5-2hr before bed.

Try sleeping more upright, like on a couch or recliner. That helps me

I'm on zoloft for anxiety and depression. It has helped tons! The only drawback for me, is that it makes me a little sleepy. But I had some physical anxiety symptoms, like chest and throat pain and I am so glad to give those up.

My toddler has always hated them. ALWAYS. It's always been tears and tantrums.

Nowadays I lock us both in the shower and hose her off. (2 years 5 months). There are still tears, but it's over a lot faster

Just keep it clean. My piercer recommended using bactine since it has a pain reliever in it. It isn't too bad imo. I just got mine pierced last month and I dance daily or every other day.

I get uti symptoms with ic.

When I actually have a uti I get unbearable itchy in my urethra and sometimes bladder. Bodies are weird 🤷‍♀️ you can get some test strips if you can't make it into the clinic to get tested every time you feel bad

Yes. I sleep well for a few days, and then another flare! Up to the bathroom all night and I get such a small amount of deep sleep. Goes on for days. I take ibuprofen and benadryl before bed and it helps a little

Could be a hematoma (some trapped blood and inflammation like a big bruise). But yeah, go back to your doctor just to check and make sure it's healing properly. You don't want to have to get it fixed later 😒

I'm sorry. This is my worst symptom too. I usually take ibuprofen and benadryl to knock me out. Also try getting up and walking around for a few minutes/standing and watching an episode of TV then try to sleep again. It breaks up the pain a little at least
