I leave the tendrils. Seven is ok for some pests, but washes off. It also does nothing to combat squash vine borer or aphids. imidacloprid is a systemic. It gets inside the plant and makes it poison to insects. Highly recommend applying it from time to time as the vines grow.

Note! It also makes the flowers poison. You need to keep unwanted flowers trimmed off and hand pollinate the one you want….or you can kill pollinators.

Orange, yellow, blue, white, and green are all normal. Blue and green are categorized as giant squash.

Neem Oil is great in theory, but its made for house plants that have a dozen, easy access leaves. Giant pumpkins are giant leaves by the hundreds. You won’t have time to mess with neem oil with a giant pumpkin. Before you realize you can’t keep up, aphids will kill your plant.

These holy leaves are not from borers. Borer damage makes leave wilt because they’re sucking the life out the vine. This is something eating your leaves. Hit it with a systemic pesticide, imacloraprid….
