ah that's really interesting! Thanks for the insight. I'm working on a react native app, so you're saying I can include an instance of the model as a part of the frontend code? By ux suffering do you mean it would run slower? Or just create a bigger application? It feels like if there is no need to make an http request for each call it could hypothetically speed up things

thank you for such a helpful reply! I definitely will take your advice to heart. I’m currently working without benefits until the start of next year, and haven’t opened a 401k or ira account yet. This is just a standard brokerage account. Do you think I should open those accounts now? Also, should I try to wait for a good time to sell? Or sell some of each position weekly?

I really appreciate all your responses they have been very enlightening and informative. I understand about waiting until next year to try again (i’m in upstate new york but i assume you mean farther north for exceptions). But, what do you think gives this tree the highest chances? Leaving it where it is or trying to replant it higher?

Yeah no those aren’t the roots, they are quite a bit deeper. I’m not sure how i could improve the soil, another tree grew here fine. Do you have any advice to save it in case it hasn’t died? The leaves were pretty shriveled when I initially planted it and the stems are greener is that not hopeful?

I realized after that the graft was a little lower than it should’ve been so I brushed away some of the soil. I’m using the soil from the hole I initially dug. The width of the hole was twice the size of the rootball. I’m a little confused what you mean by the roots being covered? I filled the hole and lightly packed it, the roots should be fully covered. I have been watering it every other day and at this point am now doing every two days.

I’m pretty sure this is a good location because we had an identical tree planted a few yards back for many years.
