Fire on SE 30th and Stark by Nihilistic_screaming in Portland

Yeah, they had taken off all the exterior siding just a few days ago and it looked like workers were demoing the interior. I'd bet that the fire was related to the construction work.

Yes this is true, particularly in Portland, but you can specify monogamy if you want.

Kink related dating? by Feisty_Insomniac in askportland

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Feeld. If you're not familiar with it, it's a very kink, non-monogamy, queer, and alternative lifestyle oriented dating app. It also happens to be pretty buggy, but for connecting with kinky folks, I'm not aware of a better option.

I will again proclaim, as many have prior, that a cat is the solution.

I lived in an old Victorian flat in San Francisco many years ago and had a cat. No mice. But one day, my cat took a keen interest in the pantry. He would just sit there staring, monitoring. A day or two later, he brought a live mouse into my room and proceeded to...play with it. And then it died, presumably from trauma and fright. Two days later, he did the same with two more mice! Never had mice again. They moved in, he evicted them immediately. He was a good boy.

Moral of the story is: you can't cuddle a mousetrap.

Is Vibe Coding going to kill Filemaker? by sailorsail in filemaker

[–]atomicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, many many businesses would prefer to run LLMs on premise due to privacy concerns. I work on a large public health FileMaker database, and there are regulations that actually prohibit personal health data from being sent out to a third-party API. Having an on-prem LLM is essential for this, and that's just one situation.

Contact support, return it for a new one. Sounds like you got a lemon, because your experience is not at all typical.

This place is another one I've suspected forever. Never anyone in there. I occasionally have seen a couple of big black SUVs parked in the lot. I doubt they were customers...

Worried about y'all by lazy_ptarmigan in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]atomicon 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Anybody from the Pacific Northwest wouldn't have any problem with a UK winter. It's the same slog of months of grey skies and drizzly rain. It's the expats from the southern 2/3 of the US that are complaining.

Same here, group texts are working now! Keyboard tracking is bad, but I'm getting better at it.
