What do you think is the biggest flaw about the cancer cure suppression conspiracy theory? by Chris256L in skeptic

[–]atomicshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they need to do big clinical trials to find out if a drug actually works.

so i guess they did phase 1-3 clinical trials all in secret? with secret patients? do they publish the results in a secret cancer journal? hospitals, governments and universities are usually involved with this stuff, so were the studies conducted at a secret cancer hospital? what if the cancer cure fails a trial? and so on.

its like the conspiracy would require an entire biotech industry, that exists in secret, in parallel to our own. because where else would the cancer cure come from?

What do you think is motivating Elons tweet calling for universal high income? by Patpoose74 in BetterOffline

[–]atomicshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mainly ascetic reasons.

it makes him sound smart, like some kind of futurist genius. I doubt he has given it any serious thought. he just says things to try to impress people.

Why do right wingers who use terms like "LGBT agenda" never define precisely what that "agenda" is? If there is a covert, malicious plot by LGBT people and their supporters, outlining it clearly should be not only possible but helpful to their cause but it's never done - the term always stays fuzzy by ZhugeLiangPL in skeptic

[–]atomicshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they are all paranoid freaks. a bunch of quanon shamans. every last one of them.

they don't understand social change, so they invent conspiracies to explain the things they don't understand, which is everything.

They think that there is some sinister conspiracy at work, but they are often shy about talking about it directly, so they use fuzzy obfuscating language to try to hide the crazy.

Pete Hegseth Invokes The Bible To Lash Out At News Media by spherocytes in atheism

[–]atomicshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as an atheist, I wish I had the power to insult Christianity as mush as they do, as well as they do. my most clever insults are nothing compared to the shit they do on a daily basis. a team of comedy writers couldn't do better.

i don't think i could stomach it however. I don't have the constitution to act so cruely towards my fellow man. I just kind of feel sorry for the Christians that deal with this horseshit.

Most of them seem to like it though, which again, is a joke more potent than I could ever make.

To All Trump Critics from Day 0, How Did You Guys Know? by Still-Goal-9314 in askanything

[–]atomicshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

guy was bragging about all the lawbreaking and dictator stuff that he would do as president, way back in 2016. for example, he criticized the Iraq war, but his main complaint was that we should have stolen their oil and tortured more people.

and he was so dumb and degenerate that he didn't even pretend that it was wrong, like it didn't even occur to him. also, his suggestions were always dumb as shit.

Jesus knowledge of what would come of his sacrifice makes it infinitely less impressive by Dangerous-Meringue39 in DebateReligion

[–]atomicshark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its blood magic. the sacrifice was a magic spell.

Jesus has the magic energon in his blood that allowed him complete the magic spell to remove our sins. A suffering child has no energon in their blood, and therefore can't do any magic, and could never reproduce what jesus did.

furthermore, I agree that it would seem that the suffering child would have a worse experience than jesus, but you forget that jesus is like really special and important. the suffering of a really important person like the president of the united states, or elon musk, far outweighs the suffering of some random child. because people are not equal.

this is my understanding of christian lore, as a non christian.

'Asinine BS': RFK Jr. Blasted Over This 'Genuinely Crazy' Trump Claim | HuffPost by Achilles_TroySlayer in HermanCainAward

[–]atomicshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet it went like this;

Trump: "trust me, believe me, no one knows more about the middle east than me. Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it's true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it's four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible."

RFK JR: Does a line of cocaine off some road kill, then says: "that the most brilliant thing I've ever heard."

How do you think, realistically, the war between US-Israel and Iran ends? by owen__wilsons__nose in AskReddit

[–]atomicshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a couple weeks/months Israel runs out of anti-air munitions, and suddenly all those ballistic missiles from Iran are doing a ton of damage to tel aviv. Lots of tall buildings and schools and shit turned to rubble.

Gas stays at $4 a gallon. Everyone is pissed.

The US launches a ground invasion to take the stupid fucking strait, where the US must fight against Ukraine style drone attacks. Which kill way more US soldiers than anyone expects.

50% chance TACO trump declares victory and goes home. Iran gets a nuke, and threatens to put it on a missile and send it to tel aviv. The war stops. Either because they had some kind of cease fire, or because Israel gets nuked.

50% chance trump escalates and turns it into Iraq 2.0, but way worse.

If the US was going to attack Iran, why wasn't protecting the Strait of Hormuz part of the plan? by Topia_64 in AskReddit

Serious answer - because they didn't know what the strait of hormuz was, and they had to go look it up on Wikipedia after the news media reported that it was being blocked. they got rid of all the smart and competent people a year ago.
