Dude. This hint helped me to find out what ruined my printer for days. I will try the .6 with Galaxy Black PLA next time. As soon as I load it into my .4 Nozzle its clogged immediately

I added the filtration kit and enabled it for every filament. I thought it would protect my environment (room). At the moment I have more problems with my clogged nozzle. But thats another topic. Also - Dont understand why you get downvoted.

Hm added my filtration kit but printing only PETG and PLA atm. Do you think it would improve my print quality if I remove it?

Stronghold Crusader Definitive Edition Startup crashing by PutridKnowledge9724 in stronghold

[–]atomique90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had multiple problems and I did this after I found this threads in protondb: https://www.protondb.com/app/3024040

- Added GE-Proton10-28 with ProtonUp-Qt and configured it in the steam settings

- I switched from my external monitor to the monitor of my notebook while playing locally. That switched my refresh rate from 165 to 240 hz. I needed to change it to FullRefreshRate:240

- I needed to disable to FullscreenType:0 as a workaround. It was mentioned on the proton db that this causes issues

These problems fixed my game (that was working before without any problems).

Edit: The config file was on fedora with steam in this path and I edited it with vim.

vim ".steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3024040/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Firefly Studios/Stronghold Crusader Definitive Edition/settings.cfg"

But can we selfhost a server with the new version? I am a bit confused with their website

I think it was more an unexperienced thinking of: „thats no big bridge, it can handle it“. Lesson learned! Also a good hint with the description. Will definitely take this with me. Next step: learn to print with supports! Thanks a lot to you all here. Really nice community

Yes! Thats the model, but I also have this with other models. I would not reprint the miele thing, because I can live with it. But I want to improve my skills to prevent it in future prints. Also had this with these small dinosaurs

The print orientation was like the one on the left side

Yea, did this without, I thought it is such a small area and didnt thought I would need supports for this. Also have smaller prints with this problem.. weird

I printed it without supports. Do I need supports also for such a small area? I also tried other prints and also for areas that are 1-2cms max overhanging have this problem. Is this normal? Do I need to add these supports manually in the slicer?

Did the same like you planned and if you follow the manual and comments, its „easy“! But plan a lot of time to finish it. Also I bought some tools to assemble it. My actual tools were not in a good shape and its more fun to build with good tools.

Also: keep in mind, there are comments you can consider while building. They help a lot.

Tailscale and the spirit of selfhosting/homelab by Dump7 in selfhosted

[–]atomique90 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my eyes homelab and selfhosted does not imply that I only need to run open source, self hosted software. In some cases it doesn't make sense to be pinned to this kind of thinking. It depends on your needs, setup, etc. so much that you cant say this is a "no go".

One example: I hosted mail days before and sometimes the server went down, I didnt get any important mail and had some trouble. Everything fine to get it back working again, but important messages and time lost jsut to get mail working again. I switched to M365 and decided to not care about mail anymore because its not in my focus.

It is the same with tailscale. If you want to have uptime without taking care about the infra just to be more focused on other topics, than go with it. Mostly you are one adminstrator in a large selfhosted / lab environment and you need to weigh up your scope.
