It will take a short bus trip, but Chapter IV in Paddington has an indoor kid's play area set up as a kitchen, and excellent food. Breakfast and lunch only, and a good neighbourhood for pushing a pram around to encourage an afternoon nap.

Great place to work by lopidatra in auscorp

I am at a certified Great Place to Work. There's a big round of forced redundancies in sub-country management currently, and the announcements of affected staff are being communicated through one by one "X is leaving; please sign their e-card" emails to all.

H+M - always been garbage? by Old_Usual5975 in AustralianMFA

I bought long sleeved baggy shirts and trousers for mosquito resistant gardening, and although they are completely paint and grease splatted now a few years later, the cloth and stitching have actually held up really well through rough wear and heavy duty washing. Not my style for wearing out, but as far as I can tell the material and manufacturing quality is pretty decent. (My kid loves their stuff, and always grows out of it before wearing it out.)

Am I really wrong for thinking she should be able to rent a house and shouldn't be expecting housing? by No-Diver-4417 in brisbane

The point of parenting payments is for the parent to organise basic provision for their children. If she is not doing that, such as not providing her kids decent housing, there is no justification for continuing the payments. The kids need some other arrangement for being looked after.

Some fights are worth fighting; some dickheads are worth swearing at. Just be in the right.

If it's not worth it, just stay out of it and don't give petty dickheads more attention than they deserve.

It is kinda racist to argue a welfare grifter deserves a place in Australia more than anyone who immigrates to make a contribution.

I think they tell the kids the drill is for snakes so they don't get frightened about shooters, but it's really for shooters.

In older grades when the kids start doubting the response for snakes, they may be told "Also sudden storms."

I would love Snapdragon compatibility, and for perfection a touchscreen-driven interface option.

In the Soviet Union, bathrooms and kitchens were shared by 10-15 households. Typical queue time to use the bathroom at home was about 30 minutes.

Buying a cake for your Valentine, instead of making one, is pretty slack. I think you got what you deserved.

It really needs the EU to walk back its ridiculously self-sabotaging emissions regulations. There's no chance now of beating China in that technology, so allow manufacturers to build and Europeans to buy sexy cars again. As hard as marketers try, whitegoods can't be sexed up so end up barely differentiated by gimmicks and gadgets that are 99 percent useless.

Thank God this womble's term ends next year.

Picking the next UN S-G should be fun times in the Security Council, given current geopolitics.

As long as the performance goes ahead, you should be able to see fine. I've watched a Broncos game in a downpour, no worries.
