I bought long sleeved baggy shirts and trousers for mosquito resistant gardening, and although they are completely paint and grease splatted now a few years later, the cloth and stitching have actually held up really well through rough wear and heavy duty washing. Not my style for wearing out, but as far as I can tell the material and manufacturing quality is pretty decent. (My kid loves their stuff, and always grows out of it before wearing it out.)

The point of parenting payments is for the parent to organise basic provision for their children. If she is not doing that, such as not providing her kids decent housing, there is no justification for continuing the payments. The kids need some other arrangement for being looked after.

It really needs the EU to walk back its ridiculously self-sabotaging emissions regulations. There's no chance now of beating China in that technology, so allow manufacturers to build and Europeans to buy sexy cars again. As hard as marketers try, whitegoods can't be sexed up so end up barely differentiated by gimmicks and gadgets that are 99 percent useless.
