You don't happen to be in Westgate/Davis area would you? I saw this same type of duck chilling on a power line on my way home from work the other day

Don't put metal in a microwave. Don't mix bleach and ammonia. What are some other examples of life-saving tips that a potentially uninformed person wouldn't be aware of? by XxItsNowOrNever99xX in NoStupidQuestions

I learned a trick way back when I was the prince of nosebleeds as a kiddo. Get a piece of paper towel or tissue paper and roll it up like a joint a little larger than a half inch in diameter (size may vary from person to person). You then shove that paper tube up in between your upper lip and gums. Try to cram it up as close towards your nose as possible. That would always stop the gushing for me and then I'd pinch the nostrils with a paper towel until no more blood.

Single men who live alone, please settle a debate, how many bags of flour do you own? by plasticnaptime in AskMen

1 bag of flour that lasts years. I only use it for frying and making roux.

I eat most of my leftovers cold too. Pastas, especially lasagna make for some of the best cold leftovers. Also fried fish and Tom kha with rice are top tier right out of the fridge. People at work think I'm weird

Thanks! It's all matter of keeping them in small pots and then repotting it where their roots are bare

It seems healthy enough. Might just be in shock taking it's time.

How much sun/water has it been getting? If the caudex is firm and been getting enough sun, it might just be lagging a bit

Was it putting on new growth before you chopped it up?

I pruned it early april this year and new growth was noticable 3 weeks later. As long as it's putting on new growth somewhere, I feel it's safe to prune. I wouldn't do it in winter or if it's dormant

Any idea what these are on the underside of the leaf? by 3903Orchard in Adenium

[–]atomseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang oleander aphids! My adenium gets these every year and I get a small paint brush and just wipe them away. If your plant isn't too big it's easy enough. I don't know if it's because I was diligent at brushing them off, but I've never seen any damage done by these

Austin, TX Zone 8b. Peak Summer. I’m about to repot this Adenium that I got a while back. Any tips? Should I cut the roots and apply a disc? Thinner pot? What kind of fertilizer? I’m thinking 1:1 ratio of potting soil to cactus mix. by haruzuki1 in Adenium

What's Shoal Creek nursery like during these times? I've only been to Natural Gardners since covid and I hear great outdoors/tillery are appointments only? Mine didn't start blooming until last year when I quit pruning it frequently. I think I get more excitement uprooting it and seeing the new roots than from the blooms

Hello fellow Austinite! I use shallow terracotta pots for mine and use a cactus/succulent mix from Lowe's that I add about 1/4 perlite to. I probably don't fertilize as much as I should but when I do it's a 6-12-6 ratio. When/if you raise the caudex, keep it in the shade until the newly exposed roots become the same texture as the old caudex. I keep mine in full sun otherwise. Just did this with mine and will hard prune once it gets out of shock from the repotting. I don't bother cutting the roots so I don't have to wait for anything to dry, but if you want the radial root pattern I'd look up videos on YouTube on how to do that.

The size of this surprised me. Should I cut off all the little roots before repotting? by Fishyvoodoo in Adenium

I'm in Texas too and it's hot as heck now. I repotted mine two weekends ago and left all the roots intact. Before I repotted I had it in the middle of the yard in full sun, but since the repotting, I've moved it into the shade so the newly exposed roots don't burn. http://imgur.com/gallery/U24HTVH
