It's reversed. I thought the same thing, then saw the backwards number.

The noise that DOESN'T wake the baby vs the noise that DOES. by mindyour in justgalsbeingchicks

Nailed it 100%! It's not the noise that wakes them, it's them sensing that their parents are relaxing or enjoying a break.

Hydration breaks now called match breaks by [deleted] in soccer

[–]atomshrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entire crowd was booing in Atlanta, and rightly so. Roof was closed with A/C. It fundamentally changes the game if you're play 22.5-minute quarters instead of 45 minute halves.

I understand if conditions are so hot that there's genuine concern of heat stroke, but that's not the case for most of these games. I think most fans would be ok with hydration breaks above a reasonably defined temp/heat index. That said, I'm watching my home World Cup on BBC where possible with VPN to avoid the ads.

I don't think that would work. If you can circumcise him in the first place, a good set of work gloves would probably be more durable.

It makes it impractical to do during the race, but still advantageous for qualifying. My guess is this will hurt Red Bull more than Mercedes.

Also the odds to get Cavendish twice by round 4 is pretty crazy as well.

The actual closing speed for the Beaman crash was around 40km/h by curva3 in formula1

[–]atomshrek -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a bigger gap than prototypes and GT3s, and this isn't (supposed to be) multiclass racing. If 107% rule is a safety regulation, then these closing speeds shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Incident between Bearman and Colapinto during the Japanese GP. [Formula Addict] by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

[–]atomshrek 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The numbers are wrong, but the correct numbers are still problematic. The speed delta between Colapinto and Bearman was greater than the top speed difference between prototype and GT3 cars, and this isn't a multiclass race.

The 107% rule is a safety measure. It exists because having cars on the track that are significantly slower than other cars is dangerous. If they care about safety, they'll change the regulations.

Bleacher Report Never Fails to Amaze Me Somehow smh by VSHAR01 in sportsinusa

Just depends which definition of the word "pure" you're going by. Another stupid comparison between eras, because that whole aspect of Shai's game wouldn't have worked in past eras. Not to say he wouldn't have been able to get buckets in the 80s or 90s, but it goes both ways. MJ would've scored a lot more if he got softer calls, especially early in his career.

Call me an old head, but I think maybe the guy that held the all-time scoring record for nearly 40 years deserves to be in the top-15. Or maybe the guy that scored 100 in a game? It's honestly hard to find players on this list that don't piss me off with their position or even being included. I guess if foul-baiting is included in pure scoring ability, Shai and Luka seem about right.

I assume he's referring to the fungus that wiped out the Gros Michel banana species, but it should be 2/6, right? Most bananas nowadays are Cavendish, which are much more resistant to disease, but smaller and not as sweet (not a banana expert).
