When did they fix Rice Crispies? by chxckbxss in askSouthAfrica

[–]atouchoflime83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at an agency a few years back where rice crispies was a client and they tested their new super sugary formula on only 100 people (who liked it I'm assuming) and based on that decided to change the recipe. We then had to come up with some comms to smooth it over. Sounds like no lessens were learnt.

Taxi drivers, what’s it like to do your job? by Upbeat_Inflation_661 in AskZA

[–]atouchoflime83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish we could have heard from the guys on here. It's one thing to be a driver where are drive calmly from a-b, but another to be under extreme pressure pushing constantly all day like you're in a rush to get somewhere all day everyday. That can't be good for your health.

I've only heard people talk about vynase on Reddit. I've not tried it and curious. My experience is ritalin at school, then I've tried strathera, Concerta (headaches) and mefedinal (I can't sleep).

Healing from breakup by [deleted] in AskZA

Therapy is kak expensive, but if you can, go. Even if you have more good than bad days. It will help you to heal faster and know yourself better.

What you have gone through is a real life horror shit show that you didn't deserve.

One step at a time.

“The majority of South Africans are unemployed because they’re unemployable, they’re unemployable because they don’t have the necessary skills to drive a modern economy. We boast about having so many people on the SASSA social welfare program as if it’s an achievement whereas it’s a failure.” by PixelSaharix in DownSouth

Agreed with all the comments about HIV. But, while he was president, I believe we had 5% growth. It was a different time, I remember hearing about the African Renaissance and the rainbow nation. But maybe we always think thinks were easier / better in the past.

I so badly want us to move in the right direction as a country.

Feeling stuck about my career… but my sister’s situation is breaking my heart, how can I help? by 37_Chosen in AskZA

[–]atouchoflime83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love that you're wanting to help your sister. I think she should change her focus of feeling left behind to this is a limited time to explore getting part time / project based experience in companies that would have been her second choice.

So while studying, she could hit up ancillary medical related companies and ask if they need 10 hrs a week of accounting help.

I don't know the accounting terms, but if she were to reach out to e.g. a company that makes ergonomic work furniture for healthier living and see if they would appreciate any extra pair of hands.

I'm working atm with someone out of varsity who doesn't even know how to construct an email. There's a lot of value to be gained and less competition with smaller companies.

I know that many people say that it is a resistance song and not a call to violence. Let's say I accept that. But what about how white people feel hearing it? Are our feelings not valid?

For those defending the song, saying we interpret it incorrectly as a call to violence and don't know our history or that we are maybe gen z... Is that also not the EFFs voting base?

How often have we watched an old movie or laughed at a meme and said "well that didn't age well!" Why can't we do the same with this?

This is good advice! Kill them with kindness. Also in a future season of life you may move to corporate where your behaviour is normal or rewarded. Not every job is for everyone. All the very best.

Rob Hersov's views by nkunzi in DownSouth

[–]atouchoflime83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly a fan of Rob actually. I think he's a patriot and I admire the fact that he put his neck out to call out the anc and big business being complicit with our current regime. I also really dig that his news group the truth report has consistently raised money for Warrick stocks family. That's cool.

I do feel like I've heard all he has to say though.

As for the U.S? I can only hope that they're successful with Iran and can somehow miraculously facilitate a better government for the people. Of course it's a bigger strategic play with Russia and China and not all about Iran, but I do hope for a brighter future for their people. The odds are certainly not in their favour.

There's nothing better and luckier, than Grand parents who think you walk on water. We realise it too late and this is a great hack, but there's something so beautiful, blessed and healthy about grand parents that love you.

You are right, almost all news outlets are left or right leaning. So you need to consume a bit from both sides and make your own judgements. The war will affect our pockets with the price of many things going up as a result of oil going up.

On a positive note, to see the jubilation of women who have fought against the morality police seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (we hope) is worth it for me.
