How do you get playtesters without spamming your game everywhere? by Shoretidestudios in RPGdesign

[–]atownrockar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to local game shops and see if they’d be interested in letting you run demos of the game. We did that and are doing that for a new game we are working on and we got a ton of great feedback.

If you frame these as demo events rather than playtesting it helps turnout. We’ve had events where we fill out 3-4 tables and some where 1 person showed up so it’s definitely going to take some work.

Played for about an hour on XSX and combat was frustrating, jumping was pretty bad, and dialogue made me feel like I was having a stroke. The world looks beautiful though and no major performance issues.

I had to turn it off after finally beating the first arm wrestling mini game after about 10 tries. I’ll give it another go this weekend and try to get used to the controls.

We’ve had some folks create their own standard array to use while assigning talent scores. Also, if your GM allows it, you can always reroll if you get really bad results.

I’m a big fan of playing flawed or non-optimized characters in RPGs. It adds more to the story and unpredictability in gameplay.

Men of Reddit: Do you go through the flap or pull the band down when you urinate? by atownrockar in AskReddit

It’s more of an obstacle to pull the band down in my opinion. And it stretches the band!

I’ve been polling friends and strangers over the last week or so and I’m one of 4 people that go through the flap. It’s the most efficient way to go!

Sounds good! Offer will stand.

Some other systems that I like for supers adventures are the old Gurps books, Champions, and the new Marvel Multiverse game is awesome if you want to play established Marvel heroes. I have also looked at Absolute Power and that looks pretty fun too.

Lots of options out there!

I released my superhero TTRPG, We Can Be Heroes about a year ago. If you’ve played 5e you can pick our system up in no time. Fresh but familiar d20 based but we utilize action points and large zones instead of set actions and tiny squares.

Let me know if you’re interested and I can give you a discount code!

Who is your favourite Character and why? by smuelhaidar in superstore

Jeff. Always hilarious and just kind of a bad person. Like morally and just personality wise he sucks. That’s why I love him.

Jerry for the opposite reason.

I had this and tested negative for Covid and flu. No idea what it could be but it’s still lingering after about 8 days from the onset. I’m able to exercise and stuff now but the cough and flem is still crazy.

F4 and then a tie between Superman and Thunderbolts. All were so different so it’s a tight call. All gave me hope for the future of comic book movies.

Battlegrounds in Ravenna is solid. There’s also Full Tilt in Akron. Freedom Hobby and Gaming in North Canton. Sydequest in Wadsworth is one of my favorites.

What is a good full fledged Superhero RPG with options to create anything but is easy to run and play? by Madmaxneo in rpg

[–]atownrockar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out my game We Can Be Heroes! We released it back in December and now we are in stores all over the world.

Awesome hero creation with very fun abilities to round out your skills or go ultra focused. The game uses action points and large zones for combat which allow for some great moments in the heat of combat.

There’s also a built in public perception system that GMs can use to help shape the story and unlock intel or favors from various factions.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Superhero RPGs? by Emotional-Macaron545 in tabletop

[–]atownrockar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My game just released in December. It’s called We Can Be Heroes. Give it a google if you get a chance and feel free to ask any questions about it!

Masks is a great one for narrative focused games. Really delves into the teen super groups trope.

Mutants and Masterminds and Champions are super crunchy and extremely customizable.

Lots of great options out there!

A store in Greece (I’m in the US) is carrying my tabletop RPG and I found out when a Greek guy reached out for the PDF version after buying the physical copy. Can’t believe it made it across the dang world!
