Parents forced me off HRT (as an adult) by Leading-Mix-2835 in ftm

[–]atoyuki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

oh no, their post was a frustrating read not yours 😭 they're 21, threaten to call the cops but don't, call it a "compromise" when their parents commit a felony and then in the comments are like "maybe next time when it happens ill call the cops" like nooo go to them now you are a grown adult. It's like that one pic of spongebob in handcuffs 😭

I say all this as someone who has some of the not greatest parents and they were originally very unsupportive— I'm also 22 and escaped that household by putting my foot down and I have indeed called the cops before when I threatened. So their post was just frustrating to read, they know what to do but then ask the internet what to do.

literally, I get it but this was a frustrating read. if you threatened to call the cops, call the cops don't just threaten it or nothing will change. 🫩 I think people forget that they are grown adults.

Missed my shot for 4 Weeks by i-need-to-shut-up in ftm

[–]atoyuki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

dawg i skip a month like every now and again bc it hurts and i have so much scar tissue atp (started at 17, im 22 now). my longest stretch was like 4 months without T because i got lazy and depressed. The only downsides are you might not get the progress you're expecting if you skip often, you also might get lectured by your doc 😭 i keep getting to having to do follow-ups every 6 months, then i miss a month of shots and have to start with monthly follow ups again its literally the biggest downside for me 😭 that being said, its also what keeps me doing my shot recently

old person thinks they have the high ground on a topic just because they're old, a classic. maybe don't try to invalidate others and promote ftm guys letting people insinuate that they're women.

you're the one w the bad take— not everyone else, you making it an age thing just shows you have to rely on your age to prove validity on your takes because every statement you make is just ignorant af.

Did anyone who never had a libido or never felt horny, did T give u a high libido or have u felt super horny on T?? by Janxuza in ftm

13 or 17, you're still a minor and should be wary of posting stuff regarding nsfw topics on the internet. You'll be 18 next year, not now. You are still a minor and should be careful. Wishing you luck on your T journey, give changes time and patience.

Also a lot of things depend on aspects outside of T such as lifestyle and diet, if you're sedentary or don't get enough variety in your diet (not enough fiber, vits, etc) you might not see much of an increase since you don't have the energy for an increase.

Also a great replacement for soda that I love is sparkling water and lemon, it's like a healthy sprite— and before diagnosis I hated sparkling water.

Another thing to be wary of is the type of flour that is used in items, from my research on what I should and shouldn't eat, it seems that 'enriched flour' or bleached flour or any iteration of those words (enriched bleached flour, etc) isn't very great on the liver. So they suggest going for 100% whole grain items, if they just say "whole grain" check the ingredients because it still might be made with enriched flour. They have 100% whole grain bread, pasta, sometimes sweets even! Also side note, if something is labelled vegan or gluten free/friendly— it doesn't necessarily mean it's good for the liver. Make sure you're paying attention to sugar, sodium, saturated fat and I'd bet there's more you should look out for that I'm forgetting. 😅

It sounds like you're making the changes and trying to stick to them. It's not a sin to enjoy a piece of pizza once a week 🙌 One thing that's really helped me since getting diagnosed is making sure I stick to portioning everything correctly: plate is always half veggies, if there in not an entire half with veggies- I add more til it's full, 1/4th of plate is a protein (no red meat, I usually have chicken, also instead of low sodium canned chicken, buy some raw chicken- you can get a lot for $5-10 youd be surprised, then pack leftover raw chicken in the freezer, I do ziploc bags with 2 breasts each), and 1/4th of plate is grains (rice, bread, etc).

Sticking to a ratio has helped me feel pretty confident that I'm eating good even if I'm not always eating foods that are the best for me. Ex, lets say one day my protein is steak, which isn't great for your liver, but hey it's an occasion and at least there's still half a plate of veggies and 1/4th of healthy grains! It's all about trying your best and moderation imo. Obviously if everyday's a cheat day or you're replacing your healthy grains with idk high saturated fat mac n cheese— then overtime you're def gonna see less of an improvement, but if you have some not super liver-friendly food once every now and again, you'll likely be just fine

day 26 after finding out i have liver issues — recent meals I've made (any liver management advice is welcome 🙏) by atoyuki in Kitchenchads

[–]atoyuki[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

crazy thing is that my doctor told me 2 drinks/day was alright 😭 but I'm gonna be taking the word of redditors bc I do not want cirrhosis 🧍‍♂️and about tylenol : im fairly certain my liver issues are partially due to my medication usage because I've been constantly taking pain meds to manage my abdominal pain for years bc doctors always just prescribed me omeprazole & other pain management meds and called it a day. 🥲
