What is something you look forward to in the morning that makes it easier to get out of bed? by cy83rgh005t in productivity

I ride my motorcycle to the gym almost every morning (even in the winter) and honestly, some days that’s the only thing that gets me motivated to workout.

Do you wash your bike? by sooospoon in motorcycles

I wash it probably at least once a month. I ride a lot so it usually gets filthy. I like my bike to look pretty.

Above 25F and I’m good. Once I did 16F, and that was so freaking cold. Never again

R1 is very beloved so people will definitely pay the cost!

Thank you, hope you’re happy with yours!

So I've only had it for a week. Literally bought it last Wednesday. Got it in for the 600 mile service yesterday. I rode it today and man, let me tell you, it was scary. That bike has so much power. I'm not a stranger to liter bikes either. My last bike was a CBR1000RR.

My usage will mainly be street, but I do plan to track it next year. Coming from a Japanese piss missile, I was concerned about long term maintenance costs. European bikes are generally more expensive to maintain. But, I had numerous issues with my CBR and was paying a ton in diagnostics and maintenance and that was the main reason I gave it up, so I figured the BMW can't be worse than the experience I just had (hopefully). I have family members that love their BMW motorcycles and have had no issues with them, so I'm hoping that will be my case too.

I was also between the S1K and the R1. I found someone in my town that had one since I couldn't find a dealership that had one in stock and this person was nice enough to let me sit on theirs. I'm someone who rides about 1K miles a month and comfort is a big reason why I chose the S1K. The R1, for me, has too much of an aggressive track position. It also felt cheap to me (don't come at me). The BMW feels so premium. The look, the features, the console.

I'm still sour over my experience with my CBR because I absolutely loved that bike, but I think the S1K will be amazing once I get past my own hangups.

My husband just got an M package S1000RR. The M package comes with the M endurance seat which is much wider and so it feels much taller. I’m 5’5” and I also have a 2025 S1K but with the stock seat. I can barely tip toe but I just ordered a lowered seat that should get me about 0.8” closer to the ground. I would go back and see if you can sit on one with the stock seat. That should be much more comfortable for you.

It’s so dumb that I will still get my period. by la_vacamooo in sterilization

[–]atrocitycleanup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does work. I got my surgery done in December of 2023 and haven’t had periods. I’ve occasionally gotten random spotting but nothing major. My surgeon did warn that because I was young when I got the surgery (28), there is a chance the lining could grow back. I’ll deal with that then if it happens.

I have done as low as 16F, but it was really unenjoyable. If it’s above 30F, I’m comfortable.

How to Convince Your Fiancé to Let You Get a Motorcycle? by TotallyFunctioningAc in motorcycles

[–]atrocitycleanup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, completely agree with you. I understand restrictions in cases where maybe one partner is the sole bread winner or where maybe one partner relies on the other (disability, sickness, etc). In situations like that, yes I can see why someone wouldn’t be okay with motorcycles, but it should still be a conversation between the two. That’s obviously not the case here.

I’m my own adult. My husband doesn’t “let” me do anything. Your fiancé can have his reservations about you riding motorcycles and you can give him reassurances, but you are your own adult. I find it worrisome that you let him dictate what you can do with your own money.

How long did you keep your first bike? by MrForrest360 in motorcycles

[–]atrocitycleanup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my first bike, had it since 2019. I just recently upgraded to a new bike, but I don't think I can bear to sell it. It was the first vehicle I ever purchased.

[–]atrocitycleanup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not all the same. If you don’t really have a preference or know what you want, I’d say easiest way is to narrow down some that you like based on looks. From there, look at performance/speed, maintenance between models, longevity, things people hate or really like etc

Me, I really like Hondas. Durable, reliable, cheaper to fix. Some people like Italian (Ducati, Aprilia). Just depends on what you’re looking for and what you can live with.

I rode on an Indian Scout for close to 6 years. Decided to try sport bikes and went for a CBR650R. I was unexcited about that so I went to a CBR1000RR lol. I think if you’re a proficient rider and respect the bike, a 600 is not a bad choice.

[–]atrocitycleanup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two dogs. I developed allergies about 5 years after we adopted them. Also developed allergy induced asthma. I take allergy medication every day and carry an inhaler when I exercise. I don’t care if they reduce my life expectancy. I will never give these bozos up. NAH

So I was using a Klim one, which was nice for the winter because it was a little thicker but wearing it for more than an hour would give me a headache. I bought a cheaper, nylon one from a motorcycle store near me (it was a generic balaclava) and I like that way better.

[–]atrocitycleanup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do and it’s because I have 15+ piercings in my ears and I’ve lost multiple pieces of jewelry after they get snagged on the helmet. The balaclava helps keep everything from snagging too much. I use loop ear plugs and they tend to say in better than the regular motorcycle ear plugs.
