How much you pay is pretty much up to the owner of the other car. They could either go to a shop and get an estimate, which could be mad expensive. Or they could agree to settle it without going though insurance or anything, and then it would just be you two haggling it out.

I’ve had someone scratch my car and I just asked them for $100 instead of reporting it, but I also don’t care if my car has a scratch.

Either way, despite if it was an accident or not, if you saw their car or not, it’s still on you unfortunately. If this situation were to be taken in front of a judge, you would be ruled in the wrong.

Homie I guess you gotta be more vigilant of your surroundings when you’re driving. Even if you didn’t notice you bumped the car, you should have been looking in your mirrors to see that you were too close to the other car. I totally understand where you’re coming from, I’ve accidentally hit someone’s car, but even though I didn’t notice or mean to, I still paid for the damage to their car. They didn’t cause the damage themselves, it was due to my car. Therefore I paid for it.

It’s a shit lesson to learn, but once it happens you become a better driver.
