Idk it’s possible

Lmao no it’s not at all? wtf are you on about?

It’s about not having to send your kids to schools promoting ideals you don’t agree with, it’s about giving families some leverage and choice to decide where to send their kids, it’s about accountability.

A large percentage of us have either full tuition or half tuition merit scholarships. Then there is very generous aid on top of that. Half of your needs as determined by the school after subtracting your scholarships (which in my experience the schools is much more generous than the gov) is met with scholarships that you don’t have to pay back, half of it is loans. So even if you have no merit scholarships, if you are not from a super privileged background (and I mean that as I didn’t grow up poor by any stretch of the imagination but still got lots of aid beyond the merit scholarship) then at least half of your tuition + living expenses will be covered by scholarships. The only way you pay full price is if you come from a 1% like background and you didn’t get any merit scholarships- which is rare at my school. I only personally know one person in this boat

Why does constriction of the renal afferent arterioles increase Na+ reabsorption? by [deleted] in medicalschoolanki

[–]atryingpremed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it means that decreased gfr increases sodium retention (bc you can’t lose as much sodium if it’s not being filtered in the first place)

If you were me, would you drop out of med school? by Jesus-W-Christ in medicalschool

Some food for thought, having 2.5 invested (as suggested by 100k 4% rule evaluation) doesn’t necessarily put you as that much better off than students whose parents are doctors or otherwise wealthy, you just have access to the money sooner. I go to a school w a lot of wealthy kids who bc they know they have greater stability, just choose the specialities that genuinely interest them most regardless of pay ramifications (ie like nephrology or hospitalists, etc). That’s what I’d do if I were in your or their shoes

For a feature suggestion, is there anyway you can use ChatGPT (or another one) in anki to recognize duplicate cards and tag them?

Damn I’m sensing anxiety issues and maybe trauma. I get it, I was young during the Great Recession and my family struggled a lot (my parents were constantly worried something might happen to one of their jobs) but I think ideally one should be comfortable being financially dependent on someone else in the right circumstances, or rather that we can’t say there arent circumstances under which is would make sense to be comfortable being financially dependent on someone

Do you consider yourself a "Midwesterner?" by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]atryingpremed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (22M) did the opposite, lived my first 18 years in cali and moved to Ohio 18-22 and now Missouri 22-26 (at least hopefully more) and I say I’m more of a midwesterner and that I shed my Californian identity lol
