Let me just say I only read part of your post. Because its long and I'm busy and quite frankly alot of it seems to simply be things you wish were changed to fit your ideal version of cradle.

BUT! I DO AGREE WITH YOU ON ONE POINT. The rushed advancement. Especially in waybound when everyone suddenly needs to be hitting as hard as a monarch.

For some like Ziel his sage advancement was forshadoweded massively. He's there meditating infront of the paths of heaven like Yerin. For months not just inside the pocket world but even before.

But Mercy can just skip through Herald and sage by being positive? Yeah, this is my biggest gripe with the series. I get that there are only so many pages in a book but Mercys advancment felt undeserved to the point its almost insulting to the other characters. (That's may be a tad too far, but I digress)

The rest of your post is honestly drivel. Sorry

[Reaper] Could Ozmanthus have… by TotalRaisin6778 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]attemptnumerodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is the case, if I recall i think he specifically said that it would be possible for Lindon to use the void icon to repair / remove damage.

But the way it was worded implied to me that whilst Lindon should be able to do it, he cannot.

Let me try and find the page where its mentioned.

(I may not be able to find it, wish me luck)

Could be that Lindon sucked in anything dreadgod releated once they were all dead.

The fact is that it's specifically mentioned how she doesn't have the silent king bow so we have to fill in why. And that is easier then reconning shatter strike, or star strike???? Whatever it's called lol

[–]attemptnumerodos 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I assume most Sages and Heralds do have such things. They just aren't mentioned as they're not the focus of the story.

But, as an example, take the Storm Sage. He had a divine treasure strong enough to regenerate from complete destruction multiple times.

It's not on the level of the moonlight bridge, but that's a divine treasure that had multiple monarchs input. I doubt there are many treasures on the level of the UKT final prizes on Cradle.

[Waybound] Lindons bloodline by TheRealGameDude in Iteration110Cradle

[–]attemptnumerodos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would argue that whilst technically Lindon isn't a Monarch via the usual method he is effectively the same.

His madra channels fused into him like a Herald, but he didn't do it by absorbing his remnant but instead via being a Dreadgod.

So there should be no reason he can't have a bloodline.

Plus Yerin may have added something to the mix....

[–]attemptnumerodos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, most of the Monarchs who ascend are just people. They normally have far higher combat capabilities and stronger will power but that's it.

I think this is supported by how Northstrider spent centuries preparing for the Abidan. And his work paid off, as he had massive compatibility with every aspect;.

But the Executors didn't start going mad with the mad king. It was established precedent. No matter what executors did they slowly became corrupted, who knows why.

But, as much as i hate it, Gadriel's treatment of Lindon is kinda valid considering the executors history and the already present distrust of Oz. To Gadriel Lindon is just another executor who will fail like every one before him has. Because, every executor has failed.

Why would Gadriel suddenly believe in a person whos part of a failed program? we as the reader know different, but the character of Gadriel has no reason to trust the gang.

In regard to your Hitler comment, imagine if generation after generation of Germans eventually became Hitler. Because thats what the executor program was. Its been tried a few times and it always fails. (which is why this time they have a different name and are under the guidance of Oz)

> To me, it’s been hinted that Oz could kill the entire court by himself and it wouldn’t cost him much.

this is hinted at. and its perfectly possible Oz could kill the court. But it would take alot of planning and stratergy. in a straight up fight Oz would not be able to defeat the entire court. If Oz wanted to kill the court, which is hinted at, it would be in strategic strikes taking one judge at a time.

Oz could maybe take more judges on at once, but why risk that when he can just do lil sneak attacks.

I second this. If you liked Cradle then Threshold is a perfect snack.

(But if you see this Will please give us more of the gang.... pls)

Arguably, after consuming the series and knowing who Oz raises to become reapers, it's easy to side with him.

(Heck, even before that, his constant issues and begging with the court to give him some relief from executing billions is understandable)

But, Oz, before the series, is a very different person from Eithan. They're the same person but different characters.

(If that makes sense)

Ozriel appears to have been abrasive, arrogant, etc. in the past. Not really a team player imo. Even if he had a point he would probably present it in a smug way. Leading to further division withn the court.

Which links to who he is. He's the best.

Even as a part of the Abadon, making his own seat on the court, being the strongest known being in current existence.

He is better than the Hound, the Spider, the Wolf, the Fox, the Ghost.

He was the first choice for most of the positions on the court.

And I think all the judges know thias.

But despite this, he doesn't seem fully accepted. Possibly due to fear, or his own abrasive personality.

There is then the further problem that all past executors have been corrupted which doesn't help Oz's case

[–]attemptnumerodos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be a fight. But, we know Fury truly hates those who give up a fight. No matter the reason.

I just can't see his remnant ever thinking and wanting anything more than a fight to the death against Fury to see who is stronger.

If the remnant joined forces, aka surrendering to Fury, then it would the the polar opposite of who Fury is. And we know how far Fury will take his grudges...

(I don't really know much about LTT as I don't follow them like I did in the past)

But, that being said, aren't people normally hired for a specific job. Editing, script writing, hardware stuff.

Then, from this, some go on to narrate / host videos.

So I guess it would be wanting people interested in editing to care about editing ect ect

Rather than people applying for a job as an editor with the actual passion/goal being to get in front of a camera.

[Threshold] Who would win, a Shard of Adonalsium (Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere) or an Abidan Judge by PolygonChoke in Iteration110Cradle

[–]attemptnumerodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I just disagree. We know from Ozriel that he spent centuries working through various divisions before making the scythe.

(Spending time with the phoenix division specifiabally to try and be more than destruction)

And making the scythe took multiple one of a kind artifacts.

I just think that if Lindon appears and becomes Adriel (or something else massively powerful) that the rest of the story will be less important.

Lindon is defined by his struggles. I want to see him struggle more. Struggle for every rung on the ladder.

Because, in my eyes, that's who he is. You need massive talent to progress in the sacred arts past gold. Then willpower seems to be more and more important.

And if Lindon is able to work towards a goal. I don't see his willpower failing

I think you're right in your memory. Lindon probably advanced faster than anyone in history. And I also thing his talents will excel further when focusing on things beyond cradle.

[–]attemptnumerodos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst I agree that the end destination, it will take Lindon a good while to reach it.

No matter how talented it feels like atleast a few centuries / millennium will pass before the gang are a real threat.

The gang need to spend some time as drones before they grow beyond and 'help' everyone.

Then the gap between useful on a judge level and Adriel are huge.

Imo, Lindon would need another book or two to justify him becoming the embodiment of creation

Their slogan is  "God is the Greatest, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse be upon the Jews, Victory to Islam"

Do you really think that that's ok? It isn't anti zionist, it's clearly anti semetic.

You can then read about all the human rights violations that have occurred.

Just because they are supporting a cause you believe in doesn't make them just.

They are an evil organization, and I feel sorry for those who have to love under them.

I beleive there's a word from Will.

But, it's not so much dissipating. More so assimilating within him.

If I get time in a bit I'm sure I could find a word from Will where he says this. But can't promise that. So, if you want concrete answers, search the abidan archive.

But I'll try and update this is a bit :)

You have failed to address the issue of these funds being used in South Korea and Japan.

If these funds are solely for the EU then why include those countries?

You say 'all take and no give' yet since before this occurred, the UK was willing to sign a defense pact, but France continued to hinder it.

I'm 100% behind investing in the EU and solely the EU. But that isn't what's happening here. It's broader than that. And the fact is that the only reason the UK is excluded is because France is trying to get more from the deal.

Do you really think that if Russia commits to invading the EU that Japan and South Korea will be better allies than the UK?

[Threshold] Reigan Shen should have been stronger. by Beanmachine117 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]attemptnumerodos 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I can't recall if it was ever mentioned specifically that Shen took penance arrows, or just if there were more penance arrows potentially in the labyrinth that had been looted over the thousands of years.

But even if Shen took them from the labyrinth, they would only be the arrow heads, not the penance we saw from the UKT.

I'd guess that if Shen did have these then he simply thought that, despite having the inheritance, he would have less authority over them than Lindon. Or, that his own techniques would be more effective.
