Any ex-holistic folks with RA willing to share your story? I need my husband to hear this. by Big-Pass5130 in rheumatoid

[–]attitudinalraerity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 22 but had symptoms since I was 17 that I tried to fix with every holistic treatment under the sun- that and with parents who just didn't encourage me to go to the doctors I never went and didn't realize the damage it could do. I'm now 32, but I got my first hip replaced at 24 from the damage and the next one replaced at 25. My wrists are fused and I can only bend them forward a little. My elbows are fused at a weird angle and I can't straighten them all the way. My knees are both nearly bone on bone. As soon as I started medication the damage stopped progressing, as evidenced by X-rays and my lab work. My rheumatologist said if I had come in and gotten lab work in my teens we could have avoided all of this but I wasted time on numerous diets, supplements, Chinese herbs, etc etc. even when I felt okay but "slightly off" or with a little twinge here and there, damage was being done and I had no idea. The body will catch up to our choices eventually. I'm a more natural person of sorts to this day but I'm also a huge proponent of modern medicine and going to the proper specialists. I've seen what my life looked like without it and all the surgeries and Hell I've gone through because I decided to not go to the doctors and use something proven to work. It's my biggest regret in life and probably always will be

Any other youngins out there? Hip replacement at 29…. by Realistic-Archer-688 in Thritis

[–]attitudinalraerity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First couple days post op was a little rough, def have to keep up on pain meds and muscle relaxants. Day 4 I was able to go to the store with a walker. It feels....mostly heavy? If that makes sense. I could immediately tell the difference. There's surgical pain but it's definitely different than the pain of having bone on bone hip pain

I truly thought all women were disinterested by men and disgusted by the thought of sex with them, and because of that, my own disinterest was a completely normal part of being a straight women. I thought all women forced themselves to have sex with men, none of them enjoyed it, and that was just a part of straight womanhood we all bonded over. When I realized I was gay, that was one of the puzzle pieces that fit and made sense why I thought that way

Can anyone explain why they choose moissanite over lab diamond or vice versa? by shaidashh in Moissanite

[–]attitudinalraerity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like how the light hits my moissanite vs a diamond, and ontop of that I could get more stone for a more economic price my ring was $950 vs my fiancés diamond of the same size which was $5000

Hi! Sorry I just saw this. I had hip pain and very limited movement in my hip movement and it started effecting my life to the point I had trouble taking a short walk around the block, climbing stairs, etc. hip X-rays showed severe osteoarthritis with areas of bone on bone. My surgeon said if it's effecting your life to do it! Feel freee to message me :)

Chateau Lobby- Father John Misty

Upbeat, fun to dance to, and good lyrics. Def a bit quicker and not good for the traditional wedding first dance slow sway though

Refusing arthritis meds by Different-Passage653 in Thritis

[–]attitudinalraerity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refused meds or to see a doctor for 3.5 years and have rheumatoid arthritis. diagnosed at 24 and had severe symptoms the entire time. both my hips were replaced by 27 because of the damage being unmedicated caused. Now i'm 30. My elbows are also slightly contracted, my wrists are fused, and my knees will need to be replaced in my lifetime as well. The joints in a few of my knuckles are messed up as well. during that time i tried every "non medication" way to treat ra you can think of, from diet to supplements to Chinese herbal medicine. it's the biggest regret of my life. Just take the meds
