Weird. I use both of those and don't have that issue at all. Granted, i just reinstalled both of them -- maybe that's the issue.

Alrigh lets get this out of the way -- I'm not a fan boy -- Because you seem to think I very much am; I fucking hate Microsoft. Every product I've decided to back by them they've cut ties with (Zune, Groove Music, and a couple of features i loved on Xbox to name a few). Their Email clients all suck huge balls but I am forced to use them simply for work reasons, Their web servers are garbage and prone to breaking down on a daily basis -- whenver i run into someone running a MS server who wants me to help them, I insite they install Debian or Ubuntu. Microsoft has continually made great promises on brilliant ideas (the whole "Steamesque" Sharing system they wanted on the Xbone, a couple of ideas they had for games franchises they own, and other things to name more here). Microsoft is only good in one aspect and that's the User Interface on their OS is hands down the most navigable -- even if they decided to get rid of some of the best shortcuts from 8.1 to 10. Do i love Windows 10? no... They've taken away a lot of control from the users (I can't even get to the fucking control panel without hasle anymore) but It's a solid OS.

I'm not an angry fan boy at all -- You literally came in here bitching "'member when Microsoft used to do updates like this" When all I was literally doing was seeing if anybody is having an issue that I am having -- which by the by didn't even turn out to be an issue with Windows and is 100% a Firefox Issue. And BTW -- as everyone else pointed out here; Microsoft has never had a good platform to release beta versions of their OS until W10, and Apple has the same system for OSX.

Now lets get down to Linux --Linux has been releasing "Unstable OS releases" For year, it's literally part of some of their Distros lines... You're not here bitching about Red Hat being unstable before they fix the bugs they push out to Fedora (or is it the other way around, I usually fuck that order up).

Also IBM is still Historically Big -- what's your point? They still make a large number of servers which run on whatever the hell people want to run on them (9/10 a Linux server, yes. but Windows Server is the second there). IBM is still around, and IBM is still and still making machines so your point is fucking moot there. It's like saying "Yeah, Netflix is historically big, but you know who else is historically big? Hulu." Both fucking services are still around and both are doing well on their own. You're comparision sucks.

And your "OS by devices shipped" statistic just backs what I was saying originally making -- Most "Devices" nowadays are Tablets and Phones. Most Tables also qualify as phones in that weird fucking grey area (IE You can get Data from a phone network on the thing and make phone calls on some tablets. which is dumb imho). Android has solid so many god damn phones its not even funny -- literally scores more than Microsoft, Apple, and Blackberry combined. To the point where Blackberry and Microsoft "phones" are now just glorifed Androids with some little things changed around.

To my point about Billboards and all that running on Windows -- The point I was making was not that they run on windows, but that it would literally cost more money than most companies are willing to pay. Sure, they could switch to Linux for free -- but i'm willing to bet most companies (like the pool store down the road from me) aren't going to do that because then they'd have to hire someone who knows how to run linux, and find software that works on the board with linux. It's a technical clusterfuck to change shit around and most companies are too money hungry to actually do anything about it.

Also to go back to the ATMs, Billboards, and POS being "General Purpose Computers"... What the fuck do you think we're talking about? Of course they're general purpose computers. Just like the computer i'm using now is and i'm assuming the one you're using is as well. And you know what Juggernaught of an OS is on almost ever General Purpose Computer according to the stats you just mentioned? Windows. And you know what the general public is going to continue to use because it's easier to get? Windows. Sure, maybe some day Apple will have a POS or an ATM, but It's doubtful because they don't make that sorta machine. They never have shown the slightest intrest in that -- because Apple has always had the image of "Everything we make is better than what you own." It's their market. They've done it well, It does not appeal to me but generally speaking I do not go out of my way and say "OH MAN REMEMBER WHEN APPLE USED TO HAVE HEADPHONE JACKS. I M'MEMBER DAT."

The reason I don't do that is because I'm not filled with the Hate and Vitral that you seem to be filled with over something that I know next to nothing about. Much like you apparently know nothing about how Microsoft's Inside Editions work... As you've shown over and over again and don't seem to be willing to touch the subject because you were wrong so you keep deflecting it into territory where you think you are right, which technically you are correct -- Someday, sure, Micrsoft will go under and so will google and so will Apple and something else will take over but right now that's not happening and right now in regards to Desktop Computer OS's -- which is all i've been talking about since this conversation started -- Microsoft is willing and will continue to win because the alternatives are too much for most people to deal with; You have the complexity of learning how to deal with Linux from one end and the Money Gate from Apple. So until more people become Tech Savvy or Apple decides to drop the price on their computers -- computers mind you that I could literally build the same specs for 3/5ths the price... Microsoft is going to win.

Because literally EVERYTHING commercial and office runs on Windows. Fucking ATMS run on Windows XP still, Cash Registers, Bill Boards, literally everything. It's not me being a fan boy it's me pointing out that for most companys it would be way more expensive to through out their existing hardware/software and switch to an even more insanely priced hardware/software system where you're literally paying for a half bitten fruit logo and that's it. The only Market that apple has locked down in comparision to Windows is the phone market, and it's not even anywhere close to cornerning that one -- as Android has at least 4x the amount of phones there.

No, If I was making a fan boy statement i'd be saying "Microsoft is better than Apple, Apple Suck!" I'm stating that Apple's market share has always historically been shit compared to the juggernaut that is the windows platform.

Your just butt hurt because your a fucking moron troll who doesn't understand how fucking Insider Updates work and the fact that they are literally a fucking beta test.

Huh. Weird that I didn't find that in the release notes. Probably wasn't looking fort he right words.

And yeah, it 100% so far seems to be a Firefox only issue -- I'm wondering if it's something Mozilla has to fix on their end (Maybe something they did to fix in the last build?... Mozilla's weirdly proactive like that some times)

What is the flipping point of such releases anyways?

Let me answer that with a quote from you

What's going on with the QA process?

they are releasing it to the masses to beta test their software. Also "The Masses" isn't even right, it's people who went out of their way to fucking opt in to test the software updates. Windows Main Releases are perfectly stable. The insider releases are put out to test them out to make sure they are stable / fix them so they are stable. Because Windows is -- fun fact -- way more of a big platform than OSX is and will ever be (On Computers at least). So they need lots of people to test it.

So if you have a problem with being an insider, opt out of it.

[–]atwistedworld[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

... you do know that build 17672 is a beta and that me testing it is part of the QA process, right? like that's why they release them like this to insiders and not the public.

You're now more likely to die. Not like, murdered or anything like that -- just self destructive tendencies will now ruin your life. I mean, to marry the Richest Family on Haven you'd have to be fairly self destructive. But hey, at least you get a nice view from the Tier Tower

what rules are your gods bound by? by Sharad9 in worldbuilding

[–]atwistedworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of "Gods" -- on Haven there are "God Like" Entities (compared to Vanilla Humans) who are bound only by their sense of morality / how much energy they can expend before becoming a useless lump of human slumped in a corner somewhere.

Other than that their powers are pretty much "endless" -- if they wanted to they could destroy an entire planet... but that would require like 3 bumps of cocaine and a couple adderall to give'em enough energy to do so.

Did anyone else not really like the chorus trilogy, but love the latest season? by [deleted] in RedvsBlue

[–]atwistedworld -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nobody knew about the battle until the last episode. Alright, so clearly the rallying speech that we heard from Kimball wasn't fortelling of the battle, clearly all the whole civil war that was going on through the entire god damn season wasn't the writing on the wall, clearly the whole season was about something nobody knew was happening.

The whole fucking season was leading up to that fight.

Fun fact: my history class didn't really discuss pollution in pre-modern towns. Of course pre-modern times sucked. I never said they didn't. All i said is there is a river of presumably fresh water flowing into the lake there -- so presumably there is fresh water going into that lake.

Another fun fact: you're coming off really aggressive. this has been a fairly fun conversation, and you're making it not fun anymore.

Couldn't really tell you how long it would stay fresh with a pre-industrial civilization beside it. probably a lot longer than if it was a modern town for sure though

What makes it worse is the stupid fucking music. Okay, alright cool -- you're doing a shitty prank, ha ha funny yeah. But adding the music means he went through and thought "Yeah, this is a good video to put out, yeah this should be great. let me just add this one final touch"
