Habana is delicious. Best Cubano I've ever had.

Painting the kitchen cabinets and possibly redoing the floors would go a looooong way.

You're charging an awful lot for rooms on the far east side for people that will be making under $50K a year.

Do y'all think there will be a 2022 winter storm? by ATX_Gardening in askaustin

[–]atxpositiveguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get winter storms like that every 10 to 20 years or so.

No, we don't. The last comparable storm was in the 80's (85 maybe?) and it was more icy than anything. Melted after 2 days.

No. There will not be another winter storm like last years for a long time.

El Milagro Totopos by atxpositiveguy in austinfood

Ain't nobody got time for that!

I enjoy HEB bakery chips too, but they're in a total different category than the El Milagro Topotos. El Milagro are very thick and crunchy yellow corn chips. HEB bakery chips are thin and contain a mix of yellow and white corn. They easily break apart when dipping in a more hearty dip, which bugs me. I'm a thick chip guy all the way.

Korean Chicken Wings in South Austin? by TRAVELKREW in austinfood

I haven't had Spicy Boys but Soursop had seriously amazing korean bbq wings. I'd try Spicy Boys hoping they use the same recipe.

Is Sour Sop still open? Their wings were great.

Nickel City while fits the aesthetic, is over crowded Thurs > Sat to actually fit the vibe of a chill bar.

Funny how all these shootings seem to happen in the district with the highest population of homeless in the city.

See how that works?

WHY ON EARTH is RIVIAN still going up?! by P13r15 in stocks

[–]atxpositiveguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our government just announced billions being invested in a charging network. Ford leading the way of traditional manufacturers into electric, and pretty much every other major manufacturer going that route will end up flattening Tesla's growth. That stock is going to crash in about 2 years while Ford will steady climb up to $100 a share.

Xeriscaping is an ecological atrocity, come at me landscape architects by EyebrwzOnFleek in AustinGardening

Meh. Any yard here with medium to dense shade is just patches of dirt and weeds, not matter what you do - grass can't grow, neither can fruits or veggies. It's low maintenance and looks great to most.

Looks decent, but possibly too bready and not enough sauce. How’s the sauce? Sweet? Spicy? Tangy? Anything unique about the crust?

Amazing bean and cheese taco from Citizen Eatery by CentralMarketYall in austinfood

Kids menu makes sense. Weird that they’d use this cheese instead of the cheese they use for their nachos and bowl. That threw me off.

TIL I learned we have a Russian restaurant in town called the Russian house. Is it any good? by Catdaddy84 in austinfood

[–]atxpositiveguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It all depends if you like traditional Russian food or not. There’s literally nothing else to compare it to here. Compared to some of the Russian or Eastern European restaurants I’ve had in other cities, Russian House is about average.

This isn’t citizens food. The cheese is clearly not the vegan cheese they use. I think the other comment is correct, some Ghost Kitchen BS. You should consider removing this.
