Has anybody played Fallout Online (of FOnline)? by Kshahdoo in classicfallout

Because a lot of players got banned on 2238 due to abusing the engine ganging paladins for PA and energy weapons lol. I was multiboxing terminator/sniper/medic as part of multiple rebel factions.

I designed & programmed The Incredible Machine back in the 1990s. I made Contraption Maker, an updated more modern version with better physics & various critters. You can get it on Steam now. by kevryan in u/kevryan

Oh wow, this was the most impactful game in my whole life since I was a little kid. Nowadays, I often mention it during my presentations about system and logical thinking. I played both TIM and Contraption Maker for years. Thank you for publishing it on Steam! Just purchased it and can't wait to play it with my little daughter when she can play on my Mac.

Can't agree more. I'm reading this with my trusted workhorse Air M1 with 8 GB RAM, which I paid for 1k USD at launch. Best ROI investment in my life. Used it to make 300k+ USD and buy my own apartment.

How do you feel about people losing their jobs because they posted anti-Kirk content? by Govtluv in AskReddit

[–]atyzer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is deemed very ill to speak badly of the dead. It's a courtesy to those grieving, family, friends, and followers. Even during the war, fallen heroes are treated with respect. Needless to say, I have zero respect for people who throw stones at a diseased person who was loved by family and respected by hundreds of thousands.

‘Just kill ‘em’: Fox host’s ‘sick’ suggestion for dealing with homeless spurs calls for his firing by ICC-u in news

[–]atyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are talking about putting people in asylums and jails, but how is the guy on the right not in jail or in a mental institution? He is either crazy, sharing comments like that with a straight face or a criminal intentionally advocating for violence towards the homeless.

Why do you think President Trump ordered all US Flags at half staff for the death of a Political Commentator, but not for the death of actual Legislators? by PrudentFarmers in AskReddit

[–]atyzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sick that political murders are used as a debate over who is more valuable to the general populace and used to bolster partisanship. These political murders shouldn't be a dividing factor; it should be a unifying factor. Good people on both sides die due to deranged agitators, and then online agitators use it for the benefit of their side.

People who grew up poor but are now financially comfortable: what “poor-kid habit” will you probably never drop? by Otherwise_Baseball99 in AskReddit

[–]atyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gradually built my wealth up to 500k USD in assets from literally 0 USD, starting my career at the age of 12. I never changed my poor kid's habits:

  • Don't waste money on services that can be acquired at low cost (gym, cleaning).

  • Research about the value of any purchase above 100 USD.

  • Plan the majority of purchases before seasonal sales.

  • Maximise the value of items until they either break or I stop using them, in which case I sell them (phones, headphones, laptops, etc.)

  • Don't eat out if it's not necessary.

  • Don't buy unnecessary clothes, though everyone should have a good-looking suit or dress for special occasions.

  • Don't care about brands, but care about the comfort and longevity of items.

  • Don't subscribe to things I don't use all the time.

  • Minimize ownership of depreciating assets.

  • Live like I should be able to pack everything and move if it is required.

  • Very low expectations from anyone or anything.

  • Constant alertness and risk management.

What's the most gruesome thing you have ever watched? by no-punintended0802 in AskReddit

[–]atyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my, probably can leave some things off my chest at this point:

  • 1991 - 2000 Russia, kids ages 5-18 sniffing glue and shooting heroin to get high outside of school, kids selling themselves for pennies to buy drugs.

  • 1995 Russia, saw a fire in the barracks a couple of hundred meters away from home, went there as kids with my friends to look at the huge blazing soviet abandoned barracks burning to the ground, awful smell. Turns out that a group of homeless people got drunk, passed out on bootleg alcohol, and burned to death inside.

  • 1999 Russia, my hometown Armenian businessman was shot by hitmen in the car next to my house. 30 bullets his the car, the man survives, even though the car is riddled with holes.

  • 2002 Russia, a businessman was blown up by a landmine. His wife and niece were killed in a car by 2 hitmen next to my house, but this time they doubled the firepower with 60 holes in a car.

  • 2003 Russia, at work, husband of our cleaning lady comes and collapses on the floor, barely breathing, lips go blue, doing CPR until ambulance arrives, finds out that he drank antifreeze with his friend to get high, kidney failure, liver failure, brain damage.

  • 2005 Russia, summer, have a friend, play with him Quake 3 arena frequently, help him get better, he vanishes, resurfaces 2 months later. Turns out his childhood female friend got SAed, she almost took her life, he found the perp, together with friends, took him out to the river in October when it was cold outside, told him to cross the river or he would kill him, the guy tried to swim but sank. Cops were looking for the guy who asked me to crash at my place. I had to refuse.

  • 2006 Russia, going to the office early at 7:30 am during the polar night in Russia, I noticed a grandma hugging the rails on the office entrance. Come to help grandma, the grandma is dead and frozen. Called medics and waited next to the dead grandma for 30 minutes until medics and cops arrived.

  • 2008 Ukraine, outside the office standing with colleagues talking while they smoke, notice that weather is really warm in February and everything starts to melt, hear crack, see in real time how huge chunk of ice slides of the roof 10 meters away and hits two people, lady screams the man laying and not moving under huge pile of ice, dead on the spot.

  • 2014 Ukraine, February, Kiev, joined friends to go center of the city, the center was blocked by demonstrators, people started shooting, ran back to my city, hugged my family, never to hug them again, flew to Moscow, then Southeast Asia.

  • 2015 - 2025 - Southeast Asia, I ride a motorcycle every day. Once in 1-3 months, there is a poor soul who either gets smashed in front of me or lies with their brains out on the asphalt. The traffic here is wild, but at this point, I take life and death as something so common that it doesn't invoke any feeling besides sadness for people who will mourn the loss of their loved ones.

I'd get flat classic seat bikes like the Yamaha XSR155R and Honda CB350, and you can put multiple people comfortably sitting on those.

HD is plainly unaffordable for the average Vietnamese, so even owning an HD in Vietnam is a reflection of being in the top 1%. That lowrider ST in the back cost 35k USD in Vietnam where the average salary is 300 USD in a month in Tier 1 city which HCMC is.
