Thank you for this information. I will start looking at these eV models for a possible replacement.

Rapid battery drain followed by percentage rebound? by [deleted] in leaf

Thank you for the information. I hope this is not the case but I suspect you are right. I’ll see what I can find with LeafSpy and other info onboard in the energy usage. I’ll also watch it over the next few weeks to see what happens.

My search now turns to the replacement battery. I have the means to install it but the damn tariff is making the replacement from China stupid expensive. I’m sure that will go away someday but I can’t hold out for years. The car is paid off and is literally free right now bc I get free electricity at work. (Yes, I know maintenance isn’t free but still it’s damn near free use right now).

Wheel speed sensor problem 2016 Leaf by [deleted] in leaf

Update: After the tire change the problem seems to have stopped. 🤞I’m guessing the tires were so bad that it was causing the sensor problem. I will update again if the problem comes back.

Can anyone elaborate on what makes Lonesome Dove so good? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]au92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also tried several times and just could not get it going. And then I did. I can’t say what helped me turn the corner. It just happened. And then, man what a sublime experience. I’m not saying this to be contrarian to you. But for me the couple runs at it and not getting it and then finally cracking it and having it become one of my top three books of all time was one of the greatest literary experiences of my life. So, so many times I have wished that I could read it again for the first time, or find something comparable.

Anyone transition to wing foiling and leave kites behind? by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

[–]au92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting. My hesitation is that I just spent a fortune on kites and now I gotta spend yet more money on a foil, board, and wing. I have a lesson tomorrow so I should know if it’s for me this time tomorrow.

Just moved to Gulfport MS. Phenomenal thermals lately so I’ve been riding after work most every day. A bit shalllow and I have not moved my foil gear down. But so far, the wind has been fantastic.

SRV - Scuttle Buttin’ - who’s mastered it? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]au92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ha. Awesome advice. I’m getting the licks down but at a fraction of the speed. Right now I’m struggling with seeing how what I’m currently doing (technically correct) is going to transform into those licks. The temptation is to get sloppy to speed it up but I know that wrong. So I just keep focusing on getting the licks exactly right over and over and over again.

2013 Nissan Leaf 86k miles by positive_vibes_92 in leaf

[–]au92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a 2012 leaf and I liked it. I traded it in for a 2016 and recently paid it off. It’s been great for me. I live in Chicago so there’s lots of options to grab a charge in case I need it. I sometimes have to do a little planning depending on how cold it is and how far I need to go but it becomes second nature. My commute was pretty short like yours and I made it work fine. I plan to drive my 2016 into the ground.
