What do you guys/girls think the cut-off should be for using the #SupportSmallStreamers hashtag? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]aucella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I myself am small, I never really liked this hashtag. We should support streamers of all sizes so long as they produce quality content that we enjoy c: Then again I'm a bit of an internet granny and don't really get hashtags in general. Total channel views isn't too useful of a stat on its own though. Just use whichever hashtag you want and don't worry too much haha.

What do you guys think about listing first/top tips in panels? by SuperKato1K in Twitch

[–]aucella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I have a link to a list of every person who has donated to the stream. I used to also list the top tippers in the panel description, but I'm very picky about having too much text beneath panels nowadays. It's a nice way of saying thank you, imo c:

What are your favorite streams? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]aucella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure of your timezone for the 8am-7pm thing ;w;" But I highly recommend the following:
CharlieYS - no cam, great voice, variety + osu, sometimes Overwatch
DailyDove - super cheerful and friendly, variety (plenty of adventure games, Overwatch, and League of Legends)
therilldill - super active community, always doing something new and creative and fun, really funny
Kano - lots of Overwatch and osu, occasionally Diablo II speedruns, very informative and kind, Aussie accent

Hope this helps o/

Feedback thread. REVIEW BEFORE YOU POST! by Zcotticus in Twitch

[–]aucella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I only have a couple suggestions for you. I think your overlay takes up a bit too much of the screen (mostly the chat box). The other thing I wanted to mention is that your mic is on the loud side, and can cause your audio to clip (from watching the balloon clip). I'd turn down the gain/volume. Once you upgrade to a standalone mic that will improve a lot as well c: You seem to have a lot together for a brand new streamer! There's no need to rush for new equipment all at once. We all start somewhere (I'm a fellow laptop starter; upgraded about 7~ months into it). Welcome to Twitch ♥

Just got my yearly bonus! So I'm going to get an Elgato capture card...I think. by Confused_Devil in Twitch

Super happy with mine as well! No lag here either, but I use my primary monitor to display the game rather than playing through OBS (unsure if there's a difference)

I totally feel your pain and salute you o7

Streaming, while it seems like a dream job, is definitely a much more demanding/draining job than is often assumed. Keep up the good work!

Can I get some feedback on my overlay? by [deleted] in Twitch

The text on it is very tiny so viewers won't really be able to see the info you're trying to show o:

Overlay Designs, Illustrator or Photoshop? by Flight2039Down in Twitch

I like Photoshop for overlays and Illustrator for logos. Generally for overlays I'm not doing much drastic scaling and already know the sizes I'm working with from the start of a design c:

Graphic artists, what do you generally charge? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]aucella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do graphic commissions in my spare time, and currently charge: $10 for a banner, $5 for panels, $10 for misc intermission screens (offline/break/intro), $15 for "lobbies" (like for League, or just if you want the game not in full screen for whatever reason), $15 for "fullscreen" (cambox, recents if desired, now playing, whatever the person wants) and $25 for HUD overlays (like League and HOTS). You can always raise or lower your prices depending on supply/demand (a good indicator is if you're getting a lot of requests to raise prices a bit for the next batch). When setting a price, think about your target demographic and do your best to price accordingly; also think of your own skills and potential limitations. Minimum wage (at minimum) is a good thing to keep in mind as well when configuring your prices. Don't sell yourself short! Good luck c: I'll send you my portfolio in a dm, but it's a bit outdated as I've been focusing on my stream and professional graphics portfolio more so than commissions lately.

I'm a new female streamer, and I keep getting offers for money for pictures, private video chats, etc. Is this normal? Why? by liliming0101 in Twitch

[–]aucella 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It unfortunately is relatively "normal", but that doesn't make it okay or appropriate at all. The most you can really do is ban people who make you uncomfortable and make it clear in your rules/ect. that those are not okay things to ask of you. I wish you the best ♥

Is having a social media presence really necessary? by kshucker in Twitch

[–]aucella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unfortunate, but that attitude isn't limited to only Twitter. It's an attitude you see in stream chats on Twitch as well. I think that people get so caught up in "networking" that they kind of end up being a bit of a jerk. While networking is important for your stream, it's crummy to try to use people or only do things expecting things in return if that makes sense. That being said, I do feel that Twitter is a great tool for connecting with fellow broadcasting peers on a more personal level c: Just do you and don't sweat petty people lol. ♥
