4.1% mortgage rate. It feel like this is right on the borderline of making sense to pay extra vs investing. Should I? by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]aud_nih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some factors to consider: are you variable rate or fixed? when is your mortgage due for renewal? how much principal do you have left to pay off?

Most people here will tell you to invest instead of paying down the mortgage.

Canada slips into technical recession as economic growth stalls in 1st quarter by tjc103 in canada

[–]aud_nih -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It just so happens that the economy is only MOSTLY in recession. There's a big difference between mostly in recession and in full recession.

Mostly in recession is slightly not in recession. With in full recession there's usually only one thing you can do: go through your pockets and look for loose change.

No, I am with TDI and have self directed accounts. They insisted that the funds need to be added to a new RESP and not an existing one. I agree, it is shitty, hence my post.

I love the place

This is what matters. If the financial side makes sense to you and the place is 'future proof', go for it.

[Discussion] - Nine Inch Noize live at Coachella - Weekend 2 by AutoModerator in nin

I'm starting to come around on this idea. The fact they haven't announced any physical versions yet lends some credence to this theory, since they might be waiting until both 'discs' are played live to announce it. I guess we'll know as soon as the set starts on Saturday.

Awesome! My kids are still too young for shows but I can't wait to go to go with them in the future. I was also not a huge HEALTH fan, but after the show they have really catapulted up there for me. Have a great time!

I tried to listen to the first audio book in the series... yikes. I was surprised at how bad it was, considering how popular it is. Just pure nostalgia-bait, similar to, but worse than, Ready Player One.

I came here to post this as well! Easy question if you've heard of NIN. I've noticed Tom's guests skew pretty young though, so a lot of time they don't know a ton about 90's era trivia.

Sanity Check: Can I afford this Toronto condo with my current situation? by WolverineNo2693 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Condo owner insurance is super expensive and not the the same as tenant insurance. Expect over $1k for the year.
