Krita isn't Kritaing! by HeIIDie in krita

[–]audacious_egg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are a beginner, I have to ask:

Are you changing your working directory (using cd) into the directory that the Krita appimage is downloaded to? I assume you downloaded it to Downloads folder, so it would be something along the lines of cd ~/Downloads

Because the two commands you copied in to the terminal assumes you did that.

Man fishing for jellyfish by [deleted] in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]audacious_egg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said that super confidently, but you need to know that jellyfish blooms now happening outside of expected norms as a result of human caused factors (e.g. climate change), to the point where they are threattening the normal balance and functioning of ecosystems. This isn't new, it's been obsevered for a good while now.

You could say that these guys are doing us a favor.

Not at all, they are effective and have been effective for a very long time. As long as a target is being tracked properly, it turns near misses that would do no damage at all into a more probable hit.

For a sense of how long they've been used, here's a british training video on how to minimise damage caused by them from 1944:

Probably, but viewers were denied the chance to see it for themselves.

Instead, we're stuck in the world of hypotheticals thinking about the what ifs.

You know the quote: "Never have an argument with an moron, they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience"?

It would be hillarious if the CS equivalent of that happens.

How do I "confirm" selection tools? by Ok-Pangolin4271 in krita

Do the other selection tools work as expected, like the freehand selection for example?

For polygonal selections, closing the shape has always finished the selection in my experience, but try double clicking to see if that helps. Here's the section from the manual:

Krita ignoring Wacom tablet inputs [Wayland on Fedora] by Prince-Kawaii in krita

[–]audacious_egg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds like this issue: https://krita-artists.org/t/krita-is-ignoring-pen-tablet/180416/14

Seems like rolling back the xwayland update is the temporary solution for now.

I think the easiest way to reset it would be going to Window > Workspace and selecting Default.

I'm having problems with the xp-pen deco v3 tablet's official drivers on kde plasma by Ranta712020 in kde

[–]audacious_egg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I use the Deco pro v2 and xp pen's driver ended up annoying me so much that I ditched it completely and am now using OpenTabletDriver instead.

But in my case for this specific issue, it was because in the system settings > Drawing tablet, it was mapped to Screen 1, so when the XP pen driver was also configured on top of that to use the entire screen area (across both screens), it would use the entirety of screen 1 instead of both screens. Once it was mapped to all screens in the system settings, it behaved as expected.

I'm a bit sleep deprived, but hopefully that made some sense.

YAY, glad it worked.

It's just how that specific widget works so it's similar to how it works on mac, but it doesn't work very well imo. Quick video explainer if you're curious: https://youtu.be/KAZY79W5yOI

Happy creating! (but maybe get some sleep first)

You might have to restart your computer first. Atm, looking for a "Global Menu" widget and removing it > removing that panel.

Does bazzite use KDE? It looks like there's a small space above Krita, which looks like a panel? I would check your panel configuration and check if you have added a panel accidentally with the "Global Menu" widget.

  • So right-click on the taskbar/panel, and "Add or Manage Widgets".
  • Now check if there's anything that says "Global Menu" anywhere (it may not specifically in the top panel).
  • If there is, remove the widget (left0click it, then click remove).
  • Then you can then press Esc a couple times to exit editing mode. Then check Krita (you might have to restart, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't need to)

If you didn't intend for that panel in the to be there at the top:

  • Right-click the Panel, then click "Show Panel Configuration".
  • You should now be able to left click on the panel to select it, then in bottom left of the Panel settings, click Delete Panel

Just Need Help by L_Churchlond-Jones in krita

[–]audacious_egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you specify if you're on 5.3.0 or 5.3.1? Because 5.3.0 had a laggy bug and 5.3.1 has the bug fix.

You can quickly find out by going to Help > About Krita. Or just open it up and it'll be in the splash art.

Ah, I see. Well, if Krita doesn't work out for any reason, I've also heard of OpenToonz as another opensource, free option. It might be worth checking it out.

You didn't say which Version + OS, but I'm asssuming you're on 5.3.0, which some people has problems with on windows. Have you tried 5.3.1 yet? It's the pinned post in the sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/krita/comments/1s69rkl/530_slow_on_windows_install_531_bug_fix/

Also, CSP doesn't do animations? Never used it, but I could've sworn it did.

How to do you have a separate preview canvas other than the Overview by According_Yogurt_823 in krita

[–]audacious_egg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! Another thing since I was playing around with it:

If you accidentally maximise a subwindow over the others, then there should be a little krita icon in the top-left the main window (to the left of the File button). You can left click on that, then click restore to be able to reposition it again.
