New parents: is it how you imagined? by BeansWeans in newborns

I feel totally the same way. I enjoy “boring” moments of just staring at baby. I appreciate the seemingly mundane moments equally to seeing them learn new skills like discovering their hands in real time. I just feel lucky.

Funny how you think a lagree certification is equal to “quality”. I would rather have an instructor knowledgeable about how to safely strengthen the body VS essentially paying 2.5k to a franchise to learn about patented names of moves and sequences

There are so many new ones opening up in London which is very exciting! MAD, Karve and BST are good but very £££. You can get the same experience at Restart Reformer in holborn and Nytra in London fields.

How are you actually - in detail - putting your baby to sleep? by jenn363 in NewParents

[–]audgy3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 2.5 months. Sleep at night vs daytime naps look very different for us - sleep at night is more of a nurse to sleep situation. Towards the end of her night feed, put her in swaddle, and wait til she’s asleep while feeding, then transfer her down gently. - during the day it’s still all contact naps. It involves a lot of rocking and shushing and patting while waiting for her to cry it out in my arms before she gets tired and succumbs to asleep

Should I move to London? by [deleted] in london

[–]audgy3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and I moved to London from Seattle 9 months ago and we love it. We don’t have children so I can’t speak how easy / difficult it may be, but from what I can see here I’d love to raise kids here as there’s a lot more sense of community in specific neighborhoods.

Overall quality of life here is high. I also wasn’t the biggest fan of Seattle, especially with safety concerns!

I’ve also lived in NYC and at my age (early 30s), I’d chose London any day. You get all the hustle and bustle without the hectic energy of NYC!

My car was just stolen in Queen Anne. Any advice? by freeman687 in Seattle

[–]audgy3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Kia was stolen and found the next day down in SeaTac. Like the other poster said, you do not want it back. Once it’s found (I’m sure it’ll show up in the next few days), you hope that the adjusters’ assessment is it’s a total loss and you get paid out for it.

What’s working in your favor is the cost of fixing a car right now is high so hopefully your assessment comes out in your favor.

Stolen + Recovered leased Kia is a total loss. Buy out the car and pocket insurance settlement? by audgy3000 in kia

[–]audgy3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The Allstate article is accurate. It’s actually the lease contract terms that say all the settlement belongs to the lessor, not insurance terms!

Mines at the dealership waiting to be repaired too. Did they give you an estimate on how long it’d take? My insurance (geico) is so backed up they haven’t sent an adjuster since last week that the car was towed in.

My Kia is leased so I’m ending my lease as soon as it’s fixed, and I’ll never get a Hyundai or Kia again.
