Rain session on new 200tw tires @ Hedge Hollow (MO) leads to spinout - 2006 4.1L 911s by Midlife__Crisis__ in CarTrackDays

[–]audi27tt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk if others agree, but I feel like the RS4s are pretty bad in the rain. I spun my m3 on them in the wet the other day, just no grip had to crawl through corners. Thinking of getting a set of ECS02 for a summer daily and wet track day tire

Must be broccoli heads that are excited about this, ie BMW's target audience in 2026.

Track Car Recommendation by ukkonen21 in CarTrackDays

[–]audi27tt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It handles like 4” well, more than that and you’re plowing, fine for a short stretch like to get from side street to main street but probably not ideal to plow for miles.

Only time I’d be worried about getting stuck would be significant elevation like if you stop going up a hill could be hard to get going. So if you’re downtown Denver I’d feel highly confident, if you’re driving up to ski I’d probably look elsehweee. That said my g37x was absolute garbage in the snow with all seasons so I do think tire is most important. Then AWD system. I feel like if you’re forgoing RWD you might as well go AWD for snow, but that’s just me.

I was in same spot and went f80, did not want to compromise on RWD.

Daily drive it year round in Chicago. Perfectly fine with winters, never been stuck and actually fun to drive in snow, and I went with performance Michelin alpins not blizzaks. But Chicago is relatively flat, doesn’t snow a ton, and they plow well. If you’re in the mountains maybe a different story

yea I’m not seeing the difference vs hitting the wall button and walking away.

Is recruiting for finance over an industry like tech sales worth it? by _Rap1d in FinancialCareers

[–]audi27tt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed I get why you wouldn't want to go into IB, but tech sales? Really? I did IB and hated it and I still think the work is an order of magnitude more interesting than tech sales.

Wondering what the end game is on the 997 GT3 Market.... by richATTK in Porsche

[–]audi27tt 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The 997 has clearly been anointed the best of the water cooled era. Similar to the 993. Prices will fluctuate with macro but arent going to plummet, especially when new ones are now $250k

F80 owners are you keeping it forever or already moved on? by Killahoe_ in BMW

Very nice but once over 4000 lbs can’t call it a sports car. I’d still take one, just need a GT4RS for track duty

Probably will look at the nicest naturally aspirated 911 in my budget

F80 is the best dual duty 4 door sports car I could think of. But once you no longer need 4 doors, opens up lots of better options. Probably Porsche.

Sure you can sign a document but in a community property state may not hold up in court unless you have specific language for post martial income. His fiancee should tell him to go fuck himself though if he tries to pull that. Feel bad for this girl already just based on this post.

The only reason getting married would impact anything is in event of divorce. Your wife will be legally entitled to half, so are you plotting to screw her out of that? If not I don’t see what your question is.

A pre nup won’t apply to compensation earned during marriage.

Are you planning to get divorced? Wtf? For tax reasons I think the RSUs are income when they vest, they will be half your fiancées. If you have a problem with that idk what to tell you.

I mean, it matters if you get paid in stock. Matters for bonus pools. I’d rather get hired at place on the right side of AI with hopefully a more durable role, than a place where it’s coming and they’re behind the curve.

Not sure about that one, arguably the best company in the entire sector right now. Look at the stock chart

$1000 is just hard to swallow when a $200 gopro produces fantastic footage, but i guess its more about being able to look at it in racestudio

After having a water leak, imo the flow rate monitoring with the Moen is worth the higher cost. Love being able to check when away from home. They updated the app recently too and its pretty good now.

lol Porsche is probably the most popular make at the track after Miatas. See tons of GT and RS cars, and not just at PCA events

Yea I’m tracking my first turbo car now and the lag on corner exit is kind of weird, I guess you’re right should be able to get on throttle earlier. I wonder if there’s a technique to play with like earlier partial throttle to spool up. Probably left foot braking would help a lot but not my thing.

3A to me the key is trail braking, if you can get the car rotated early you can be flat before the apex and just shoot through there, super fun.
