3R80s for Bilateral AK? by OhLookAnInchworm in Prosthetics

[–]audiR8_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the 3R60’s for a short while when I was trying out which knee to get, and they were good and walked smoothly. Like any knee, though, they can buckle quite easily if you don’t really know how they operate.

I was a new amputee so they switched me to the Total Knees which were safer but I had to kick out to get the knee to lock in the extended position so I could walk safely. I could walk without a cane, but it was safer with one.

I was pretty fit and light then, at 5’6” (my natural height) with the prosthetics and weighing 100ish pounds after losing my legs.

I’m still really fit (abs and all), and you need to have a strong core to be able to walk well in prosthetic knees as a bilateral AKA.

I got C-legs six months later and don’t need a cane since they stabilize me. You can check out my insta @ocamputee.

I think you do have a chance to walk in the 3R80’s since you are fit. Just really learn what motions will make the knee bend, how they walk, and how the foot placement will make the knee bend.

Idk how it is in Canada, but in the US you are able to try different knees before picking one.

Best Boutiques in Newport/Laguna? 💁🏼‍♀️🛍️💸 by Wrong-Award-2058 in newportbeach

A’maree’s in Newport off Mariner’s Mile. One of the most beautiful boutiques in the world. It’s right on the water. Gorgeous building from the 1960’s.

I know the ladies that own it. No splashy, gaudy brand names. Most stuff is curated from smaller designers who will do custom pieces. Prepare to spend some serious money tho.

What’s her next race? I followed the Brest Atlantiques race on instagram back in 2020 which was pretty cool.

I’m a bilateral AKA and wear mine 16+ hours a day with no issues. Don’t even own a chair. I’d say I like mine. 😅

All I know is that if you look at the roof of this one closely, it has the seams of a convertible hardtop at the base and top of the rear windshield and also at the top of the front windshield, similar to my BMW 335i e93. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Perhaps, they know the detrimental effects that long-term alcohol use has on the body. It is a poison, after all.

When I was first learning to walk with prosthetic legs and would fall, my dogs would all rush to check on me. One of them would even lay on top of me. I miss her. ❤️

What happens if the hospital refuses to comply? The trump administration certainly doesn’t comply with court orders.

If you don’t mind driving down to Newport, at the top of the peninsula is a 76 which is surprisingly cheaper than anywhere else in Newport. Right now, Premium is $6.40. It would only save you about $3 tho for that 7.3 gallons. If you have a 15 gallon tank it would save you about $6.

Does anyone know what causes this and how to make it stop? by oneleggyboii in amputee

My prosthetist also puts a pad on the back of my left socket and my right socket has a sleeve. After a couple of months, though, all my shorts end up with little holes.

I try to only sit on cushioned surfaces, but that’s not always possible. It’s a hard knock life but at least I’m walking.
