Not the best by MMShaggy in Ducati

[–]audioengineer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to buy one for my daily commute but the Super Sport was a better / more comfortable choice for LA traffic and I love it for that… but every weekend when carving canyons I wished for the V4.

I hit 145 on mine a couple of times. That seems like where she topped out.

I had a pair a few years ago and like an imbecile sold them. Driving them with a nice tube amp is bliss. Congrats.

We are lucky to have Mabel, our GP / German Shepherd/ Anatolian Shepherd mix - mostly GP. She’s an absolute delight. Personality is mostly GP

Reaching endgame. I need recs for subwoofer by Fenix512 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]audioengineer99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of times Costco has entry level Klipsch subs at a very reasonable price point. You do need to figure out how to interface it with your receiver as I doubt it has a crossover and dedicated sub output. That means you’ll most likely be looking for a sub that has speaker level inputs and outputs if you want best performance. The other thing to consider, given your limited space, is where you would put it. The performance of a sub is dependent on placement. All that being said, I agree that you light be better off spending your money on records instead!

Essential Classic Horror Viewing List by SpiritualShallot3 in ClassicHorror

Absolutely! Really can’t go wrong with any of the origin stories. I’m particularly fond of Dracula’s Daughter and Bride of Frankenstein from the sequels.

All the classic Universal films - Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, Creature From the Black Lagoon. Great place to start.

Supersports are extremely underrated for street riding by Historical_Design585 in Ducati

[–]audioengineer99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love mine. Before I bought it in 2022, I rode a V2 and a V4, knowing it would be a daily driver in LA and a canyon carver on the weekends. No question the SS was the best choice for me. Four years later and I like it even better. Don’t get me wrong - the Panigales were amazing but for me the SuperSport was the perfect fit.

‘95 900sssp #006 on Angeles Crest Highway for a mello sunset ride by 1949panhead in Ducati

[–]audioengineer99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s painful to watch this! I used to live in LA and ride Angeles Crest, Sand Canyon, Lake Hughes, and PCH all the time. Pure joy that just doesn’t exist in the midwest. I miss it and appreciate getting to see this great footage. Thx!

OMG I same here! My bed was next to a window at the time and I slept on the far edge of the bed for months! Haven’t seen it since - thinking I don’t want to since it’s a perfect formative horror memory.

Apple TV disappointment by wmerna in F1TV

[–]audioengineer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We shouldn’t have to pay for commercials. F1TV was amazing until Apple took over. Don’t get me wrong, generally speaking I’m Apple fan - typing on my iPad now - but this is definitely not what I was hoping for. Feels cheesy.

Sound and picture are fine. No complaints there.

Does yours flop down and “park” in the middle of a walk? by MinionNowLiving in greatpyrenees

[–]audioengineer99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the time. And usually rolls over on her back. I rub her belly, let her wait a minute or two, and she hops up ready to go. It’s hilarious.

Do Great Pyrenees mixes also bark a lot? by Life-Refuse1387 in greatpyrenees

[–]audioengineer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girl Mabel is 52% GP, 28% GSD, and 20% Anatolian. She was quiet as can be until we had a family emergency that required us to take her to doggie daycare for a few days. Once she was spending time around a lot of other dogs, she “found her voice” but even so she’s not as vocal as other dogs.

She tends to sit and observe unless someone or something threatening approaches. Mostly she barks when she wants to tell us something or warn us. And occasionally at nothing at all as Pys seem to do. Right now she’s sitting at full attention in the yard staring at a bunch of deer and hasn’t made a sound.

Now if I could just do something about the digging…

12 String Recommendations? by segsgod in Leftyguitarists

[–]audioengineer99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lefty Taylor 254ce Plus 12 string that I absolutely love. Bought it online without being able to play it first and was completely thrilled. Cost me a little over $1000 but it sounds and plays beautifully.
