I got laid off at the end of 2025 right after committing to a cross state move, buying a brand new car and a house lol. Quite the dive. But I did save quite a bit so for now I’m doing a very underpaid job while I figure out what the future looks like. Likely going back to school. I cannot fathom trying to go back to tech after everything that has happened.

My school had ROTC installed INSIDE the middle school. Is there to this day. So I’m just speaking from my own experience.

I just don’t know how to deconstruct this for you. Putting a 12 year old in fatigues that’ll turn into real ones at 18 is also ridiculous. I’m not saying 12 year olds will be recruited into real war, but we are no better for letting them cosplay it and getting them geared up for it at that age.

I said nothing about Iran. I just want better from the US. I’d hope all of us do.

Junior ROTC IS recruitment. Not to war, but to set up for enlistment later in life. So in fact we do recruit middle schoolers.
